Summary: In this study, researchers found that the combination treatment of radial extracorporeal shock wave therapy (rESWT) and Resveratrol (Res) derivative can effectively reduce inflammation and fibrosis in chronic nonbacterial prostatitis (CNP) rats. This combination treatment works by regulating the expression of SIRT1 and NF-kappa B.

Summary: c-Kit is a crucial receptor tyrosine kinase involved in various biological functions. Aberrant expression and mutations of c-KIT play a key role in the pathogenesis and development of multiple cancers, making it an attractive molecular target for cancer treatment. However, accurate detection of mutation types is necessary before personalized therapy can be initiated.

Summary: In this study, the effect of Oct4 on colon cancer cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) was investigated. Oct4 was found to be up-regulated in colon cancer tissues compared to normal tissues. Overexpression of Oct4 enhanced the malignant characteristics of colon cancer cells, including increased proliferation, migration, invasion, and EMT. Mechanistically, Oct4 activated the stem cell factor (SCF)/c-Kit signaling pathway, and inhibition of this pathway reversed the pro-oncogenic effects of Oct4. These findings suggest that Oct4 may have potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic target for colon cancer.

Summary: Receptor tyrosine kinases, such as c-Kit, play crucial roles in cellular processes and their dysregulation can lead to diseases like cancer. Different mutant isoforms of c-Kit have been implicated in various cancers, making c-Kit inhibition a promising approach for cancer treatment. More research is needed to understand the structure, signaling pathways, and pharmacophores of c-Kit inhibitors for improved selectivity and efficacy in cancer therapy.

Summary: This study found that the imbalance of psychological stress and stress systems is associated with chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) and erectile dysfunction (ED). CP/CPPS and ED patients scored high on psychosocial variables, and the symptom scores of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and ED were positively linked to the severity of psychological stress. The findings suggest that the autonomic nervous system (ANS) sympathovagal imbalance is associated with ED and LUTS in CP/CPPS, while the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activity is not.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei JY062, Lactobacillus gasseri JM1, and their combination on mice with GI motility disorder induced by loperamide. The probiotic combination was found to alleviate GI motility disorder better by increasing the secretion of excitatory GI regulators and decreasing the secretion of inhibitory GI regulators, except vasoactive intestinal peptide. The intervention also increased the number of interstitial cells of Cajal, the expression of SCF/c-kit protein, the abundance of beneficial bacteria, and improved the contents of short-chain fatty acids in mice's cecum contents.

Summary: In this study, it was found that Banxia Xiexin Decoction (BXD) could promote the proliferation and inhibit the apoptosis of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICCs) in gastrointestinal (GI) motility disorders through regulating miR-451-5p and the SCF/c-kit signaling pathway. This provides a new therapeutic basis for the treatment of GI motility dysfunction.
