Summary: The study findings suggest that large banks do not always have the positive impact on the real economy as theoretically expected, and in fact, they may have negative effects on some borrowers and the real economy.

Summary: Continued urban population expansion is a significant challenge for climate change mitigation and global sustainability. Larger cities tend to have lower per capita emissions, suggesting that population agglomeration can contribute positively to climate change mitigation and sustainable development. Different regions exhibit unique geographic and economic factors that influence the relationship between carbon emissions and population, and city consumption weakens the role of population agglomeration in reducing carbon emissions.

Summary: Increasing the number of parameters in a quantum neural network leads to a computational 'phase transition' where training the network becomes significantly easier. An algebraic theory has been developed to explain this overparametrization phenomenon and predicts its occurrence above a certain parameter threshold.

Summary: A set of novel branched molecules has been developed for use in perovskite solar cells, showing high thermal stability and glass-transition temperatures. The hole-drift mobility is comparable to the reference standard under identical conditions, and devices using the new organic electronic materials demonstrate slightly enhanced performance compared to those using spiro-OMeTAD.

Summary: The study investigates the relationship between business size and small-business owners' subjective well-being, finding that financial satisfaction and time pressure have opposite effects on subjective well-being, which cancels each other out. Financial satisfaction is more important for life satisfaction, while time pressure is more important for emotional well-being among small-business owners.

Summary: This research examines the factors that contribute to the establishment of high-investment infrastructure public-private partnership (PPP) projects. After studying 9121 PPPs in 107 developing countries from 1997 to 2017, it is found that PPP projects with contractual forms that shift more risks to the private party, awarded through competitive methods, and benefiting from indirect government support programs, tend to have larger investments. Additionally, a business-friendly economy and strong institutions create a conducive environment for larger investment PPPs. Furthermore, the support from multilateral development banks is positively related to the investment volume of the projects.

Summary: This paper examines the economically viable design approach for OTEC systems considering off-design conditions with seawater temperature variations. The model is validated with data from a power plant in Indonesia and shows that sizing systems based on worst-case thermal resources leads to the highest and steadiest electricity production. The study also highlights the importance of moderate temperature variations for achieving optimal economic performance in terms of the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE).

Summary: This study adapts RNA tomography to analyze gene expression in the embryonic head of the catshark, providing detailed spatial information for developmental processes. The technique generates a genome-wide 3D atlas of gene expression data, allowing for comparative analysis across gnathostomes and offering new opportunities for evo-devo research in larger organism sizes.

Summary: Wildfires are creating large high-severity patches far from undisturbed habitats, impacting bird communities. Community richness decreases with distance and patch size, while increasing with years since fire. Large high-severity patch interiors contain subsets, rather than complements, of edge communities, leading to shifts in avian diversity and community composition.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of numerical information on consumer perceptions and green purchase intention. The results show that expressing green benefits with an expanded scale increases the perceived value of green products and leads to a higher intention to purchase. Skepticism levels also moderate the influence of numerical scale framing.
