Summary: A new wearable smart T-Shirt design for monitoring breathing rate using Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) is proposed. The design includes a wireless sensor for monitoring breathing rate, a wireless power transfer system, and a user interface for analyzing the collected data. The study presents breathing curves obtained from a breathing sensor incorporated in a smart T-shirt and applies data analysis methods to extract important parameters for medical diagnosis. Additional results are also presented for different tests on male and female subjects using another design of a smart T-shirt system consisting of an array of six sensors.

Summary: The paper analyzes the autonomy of a wireless body sensor used for measuring electrocardiogram (ECG) by continuously measuring the potential difference between two proximal electrodes on the skin. The power consumption of the sensor depends on the measurement quality selection, particularly the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication protocol. Two analytical models for power consumption estimation in idle mode and active mode are proposed and validated. The results show that lowering the sampling rate and packing data in a single BLE packet can save the most energy.

Summary: In this paper, a novel resource scheduling algorithm for WSNs is proposed based on differential ion coevolution and multi-objective decomposition. By introducing mobile nodes as relay nodes and building a multi-index evaluation model, the performance of WSNs is effectively optimized using a multi-objective decomposition strategy and differential ion coevolution strategy.

Summary: There is a strong correlation between pH levels in the gastrointestinal tract and GI diseases. Existing diagnostic methods for GI diseases rely on invasive and expensive techniques. This study reports an autonomous ingestible biosensing system in a pill format with integrated pH sensors. The system measures pH levels as it travels through the GI tract and the data is downloaded from the collected pills. The innovative sensor design allows for easy integration into the pill and the modular biosensing system can monitor other biomarkers.

Summary: This paper proposes a bi-level energy management model for smart grids in uncertainty and demand-side management based on WSN. The model optimizes the energy consumption of network sensors in the IoT platform and customer behavior by utilizing genetic algorithms and price-based demand response. The lower layer minimizes emission pollution, operation costs, and energy not supplied using the multi-objective Moth-Flame optimization algorithm. The proposed model's capability is demonstrated through a case study.
