Comparison of mortality among hemorrhage-control methods performed for hemodynamically unstable patients with traumatic pelvic fractures: A multi-center study

Myoung Jun Kim, Seung Hwan Lee, Ji Young Jang, Jae Gil Lee

Summary: The study aimed to analyze the effects of hemorrhage control methods on mortality in patients with hemodynamic instability due to pelvic fracture and identify independent risk factors. The results showed that the rapid and appropriate application of hemorrhage control methods can reduce acute hemorrhage-related mortality in these patients. Additionally, none of the hemorrhage control methods were superior in reducing mortality rate.

Use of venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in trauma patients with severe adult respiratory distress syndrome: A retrospective study

Gil Jae Lee, Myung Jun Kim, Jae Gil Lee, Seung Hwan Lee

Summary: This study investigated the effect of veno-venous (VV)-ECMO on trauma patients with severe adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The results showed no significant differences in in-hospital mortality, 28-day mortality, and hospital length of stay between the VV-ECMO group and conventional mechanical ventilation (CMV) group. Therefore, VV-ECMO may be considered as a rescue therapy.
