Boswellic acid (BA) is an ancient herbal drug prescribed in the Indian traditional medicine systems (Ayurveda) for treatment of coughs, colds, hoarseness, bronchitis, asthma, dyspnea and diarrhea. Current research suggests it also has therapeutic potential in modern medical practice. Therefore, it is of interest to the research community to consolidate the preclinical and clinical findings on BA. The aim of this review was to comprehensively cover the plant sources, phytochemistry and physicochemical properties of BA along with its medicinal properties, safety, toxicity, and regulatory status. The review also discussed the challenges associated with drug delivery and some feasible approaches for addressing these. Four electronic databases (Scifinder, Unbound Medline, PubMed and Science Direct) and two internet search engines (Scirus and Google Scholar) were extensively searched without any time constraint. The many studies discussed in the review indicated therapeutic potential for BA in the treatment of a range of chronic diseases including arthritis, cancer, asthma and diabetes. It is hoped that this review will help researchers identify relevant research questions leading to the development of effective formulations and a better understanding of the safety of BA, with the aim of promoting it as a mainstream treatment for various diseases in clinical practice. Microfoundations of Strategic Agility in Emerging Markets: Empirical Evidence of Italian MNEs in India

Alberto Ferraris, William Y. Degbey, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Stefano Bresciani, Sylvaine Castellano, Fabio Fiano, Jerome Couturier

Summary: This study examines the individual-level microfoundations of subsidiary CEOs in emerging markets as antecedents of the strategic agility of multinational enterprises, and examines subsidiary embeddedness as a key organizational-level moderator of these relationships. The findings suggest that the tenure and overall experience of subsidiary CEOs in emerging markets, as well as their cognitive characteristics, positively affect MNE strategic agility. Additionally, subsidiary embeddedness moderates these relationships in different ways, providing opportunities for new managerial and theoretical considerations.

Bayesian inference for Maxwell Boltzmann distribution on step-stress partially accelerated life test under progressive type-II censoring with binomial removals

Anurag Pathak, Manoj Kumar, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Umesh Singh, Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Sandeep Kumar

Summary: This article addresses the estimation problem in step-stress partially accelerated life test of Maxwell Boltzmann distribution, considering progressive type-II censoring with binomial removals. The maximum likelihood and Bayes estimators of the parameter are derived under symmetric and asymmetric loss functions. Furthermore, the performance of these estimators is compared based on risks. The proposed methodology is illustrated using the time to failure of Aluminium reduction cells and survival times of male rats exposed to high radiation levels in weeks.

An efficient self-embedding fragile watermarking scheme for image authentication with two chances for recovery capability

Durgesh Singh, Sanjay K. Singh, Sandeep Sambhaji Udmale

Summary: In this paper, a self-embedding block-wise fragile image watermarking scheme is proposed for authentication, localization, and recovery with enhanced accuracy. The scheme splits the cover image into non-overlapping blocks and calculates restoration and authentication bits from the MSBs planes. The proposed scheme achieves high-quality restoration and significant authentication possibilities for each block, with high Peak Signal to Noise Ratio and Normalized Correlation Coefficient up to 50% tampering rate.
