Summary: Myc target 1 (MYCT1), located at 6q25.2, is a crucial player in cancer development with widely distributed expression in cells and variable subcellular localization across different cancer types. It is regulated by multiple transcription factors and aberrant expression of MYCT1 impacts key biological processes and tumor immune responses in cancer cells. Despite some debated functions, MYCT1 holds undeniable significance in cancer development. This review aims to comprehensively examine the relationship between MYCT1 and cancer, providing valuable insights for cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Summary: MicroRNA production in tumorigenesis is dysregulated by various processes, leading to dysfunctional and dysregulated miRNAs. These miRNAs have been identified as potential biomarkers for human cancer, although further evaluation is necessary. The miR-28 family, especially miR-28-5p and miR-28-3p, play essential roles in various cancers and can serve as diagnostic biomarkers for prognosis and early detection of cancers.

Summary: miR-31-3p is expressed at lower levels in prostate cancer tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues, and it plays a tumor-suppressive role by inducing apoptosis and decreasing cell proliferation, migration, invasiveness. GABBR2 is identified as a direct target of miR-31-3p.

Summary: Lung cancer is the second most common cancer worldwide and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) accounts for more than 85% of lung cancer cases, and despite advancements in therapy, the survival rate for NSCLC patients remains low. miRNAs have been identified as molecules that play a crucial role in tumorigenesis and progression of various cancers, including NSCLC. Dysregulation of miRNAs has been recognized as a causative mechanism in NSCLC tumorigenesis. This review discusses the role of miRNAs in NSCLC tumor progression and their potential as therapeutic biomarkers, highlighting specific miRNAs that could be explored for NSCLC management.

Summary: miRNAs are small non-coding RNA transcripts that regulate gene expression in cells, including tumorigenesis. The miR-371-373 genes are found to be abnormally expressed in various cancers and may serve as molecular biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and prevention. Further studies linking miR-371-373 functions to tumorigenesis suggest their potential applications in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
