Summary: This paper investigates the tradeoff between energy efficiency and delay determinacy in energy harvesting-powered Zero-Touch Deterministic Industrial Machine-to-Machine (ZT-DI-M2M) communications. It first derives the probability of transmission delay within a certain time window to characterize delay determinacy and considers system control performance to determine the relationship between delay determinacy and energy efficiency. The problem is then formulated as a stochastic game to model the uncertainty of the stochastic environment, and a random graph-based sparse Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network is proposed to solve the optimization problem. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm achieves higher energy efficiency with specific delay determinacy compared to other algorithms.

Summary: With the growth of IoT services and data on the network, the significance of D2D communications has become prominent in network offloading, reducing data access time, and enhancing performance. This article provides a comprehensive review of the latest D2D communication solutions, categorizing them into six categories: M2M, V2V, D2D in cellular networks, D2D with a caching assistant, D2D in socially aware networks, and D2D based on ICN. The authors examine the proposed solutions in each category, discussing the methodology, evaluation, benefits, and drawbacks of each proposal. Based on the study, cellular networks and ICN are deemed the most effective for D2D communications, especially when incorporating awareness and social relationships. The review presented in this paper is believed to serve as a valuable reference guide for developers and researchers in facilitating the design and implementation of D2D communication solutions.

Summary: This study investigates the resource allocation problem in Energy Harvesting-supported Cognitive Industrial Machine-to-Machine (EH-CI-M2M) network with the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) communication. The objective is to maximize the average energy efficiency by considering EH time slot assignment, transmit power control, and bandwidth allocation, while considering Quality of Service (QoS) and available energy status. The problem is approached through non-linear fractional programming and variable relaxation, and an iterative algorithm is proposed for optimization. Extensive simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed scheme in terms of energy efficiency.
