Summary: Organometallic tin(IV) carboxylates are well known, but the corresponding organotin(IV) tetrazole-carboxylates have not been discovered yet. This study reports the synthesis and characterization of seven new organotin(IV) complexes with a 5-thio-tetrazole carboxylate ligand, which possess a rigid tetrazole ring and a flexible carboxylate anion, allowing for a wide range of structural diversity and potential biological activity. The complexes were tested for their antibacterial capacities.

Summary: Novel indole-containing hybrids derived from Millepachine were synthesized and evaluated for their antitumor activities. Compound 14b showed the most potent cytotoxic activity against human cancer cell lines, being almost 100 times more active than Millepachine. It also demonstrated low cytotoxicity towards normal human cells and equivalent sensitivity towards drug-resistant cells, highlighting its potential for the development of antitumor drugs.

Summary: This research work investigated and introduced a new class of anticancer candidates based on organotin(IV) complexes derived from bisphosphoramide ligands. The synthesized complexes showed strong interaction with CT-DNA and exhibited considerable anticancer activity against triple-negative human breast cancer cells. The analysis further confirmed the significant effects of the type and number of substituents on the biological activities.

Summary: Two new copper clusters, {Cu-4} and {Cu4Cd6}, with polydentate aminoalcohol ligands, were synthesized and exhibited significant cytotoxicity towards human cervical and lung cancer cells. The high-nuclearity cluster {Cu4Cd6} showed better anticancer activity compared to the tetranuclear cluster {Cu-4}, indicating the role of high nuclearity and additional Cd metal in enhancing intracellular production of ROS.

Summary: In this study, a series of diorganotin(IV) complexes with the general formula R2SnL1-4 were synthesized by reacting R2SnCl2 (R = Me, Et, Bu, and Ph) with hydrazone ligands (H2L1-4). Various analytical techniques were used to determine the structures of the synthesized compounds. The compounds showed better antimicrobial activity than the free ligands, with complexes 8, 12, and 20 exhibiting the highest activity. Additionally, the synthesized compounds showed significant anticancer activity against three cancer cell lines, with complexes 5, 6, and 8 being the most active.

Summary: A series of novel di- and triorganotin(IV) complexes were synthesized and characterized. The compounds were evaluated for their antioxidant and antiproliferative activities. The results showed that the compounds with free phenol or catechol fragments exhibited higher antioxidant and antiproliferative activities, compared to those with tridentate O,N,S-coordinated ligands. Furthermore, these compounds were found to possess antioxidative effects on promoted oxidative damage of DNA and rat liver in vitro.
