Summary: This study identified a novel seven-IRGs risk signature for individualized survival prediction of male GC patients. The expression of these seven genes could reflect the status of the tumor immune microenvironment. The established risk signature model showed excellent predictive performance in evaluating the prognosis of individual male GC patients.

Summary: Gastric cancer is the 4th most common and 3rd deadliest cancer worldwide. This study investigated the relationship between GRK3 and gastric cancer prognosis and explored the role of GRK3 in gastric cancer development. The researchers found that GRK3 overexpression was significantly associated with metastasis, TNM stage, and vascular invasion. High GRK3 expression was also linked to shorter disease-free survival and overall survival in patients. Knocking down GRK3 in gastric cancer cells inhibited cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. The findings suggest that GRK3 could potentially serve as a biomarker for gastric cancer prognosis and a target for therapy.

Summary: The study evaluated the prognostic impact of static and dynamic AFP variables on overall survival in hepatocellular carcinoma patients in a Western cohort. High static and dynamic AFP variables were associated with reduced survival rates, with AFP-slope being a slightly stronger predictor for overall survival in patients with more favourable prognosis.

Summary: CircPTPN22 is upregulated in gastric cancer tissues, cells, and plasma, and positively correlated with metastasis. It can serve as a diagnostic marker and predict patient prognosis. CircPTPN22 inhibits cell proliferation and metastasis through competitive binding of miRNAs to regulate the EMT pathway.

Summary: In this study, a novel survival-related ferroptosis-related lncRNA (FRlncRNA), LASTR, was identified in gastric cancer (GC). High expression of LASTR was associated with shorter overall survival and progression-free survival of GC patients. Knocking down LASTR had a significant effect on reducing the proliferation of GC cells. Additionally, the expression of LASTR was negatively associated with certain immune cells. These findings suggest that LASTR may serve as a novel prognostic biomarker for predicting response to cancer immunotherapy and therapeutic target for GC patients.

Summary: Through bioinformatic analyses, key dysregulated genes associated with the development of gastric cancer were identified, showing potential prognostic value. High expression of LRFN4 and LOC100506388 was linked to a higher risk of gastric cancer, while tumor infiltration levels were associated with overall survival in patients.

Summary: By analyzing the transcriptomic data from primary gastric tumors, a novel list of 20 prognostic genes was identified, and gastric tumors were classified into two subgroups based on stromal gene expression (Stromal-UP and Stromal-DOWN). The Stromal-UP subgroup showed a more mesenchymal profile and a poor prognosis. It was also found that a higher stromal content in FFPE tissues was associated with shorter overall survival.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of plasma Apolipoprotein M (APOM) levels on the prognosis of breast cancer patients. The results showed that plasma APOM levels are significantly associated with mortality in metastatic breast cancer patients. Therefore, plasma APOM may serve as a potential marker for prognostic assessment of breast cancer.

Summary: This study found that abnormal overexpression of ATAD3A in bladder cancer tissues is associated with pathological features and prognosis of patients. ATAD3A overexpression is correlated with patient age, tumor characteristics, and stage. High expression of ATAD3A indicates reduced survival rate in bladder cancer patients.
