Summary: This study found an association between atherogenic dyslipidaemia and cardiac adipose tissue parameters, particularly an increased volume of epicardial adipose tissue, in patients with coronary artery disease. Atherogenic index of plasma was also associated with type II diabetes, male sex, and coronary artery calcification. These findings suggest that atherogenic dyslipidaemia may contribute to adverse changes in adipose tissue, increasing the risk of coronary artery disease.

Summary: This study investigated the potential associations between blood LDL-C, HDL-C, and triglycerides and post-stroke dementia. The results showed that higher LDL-C levels were associated with an increased risk of dementia, while lower triglyceride levels were associated with a decreased risk. There was no association between HDL-C levels and dementia.

Summary: This study finds that more frequent insomnia symptoms are significantly associated with insulin resistance (IR) and its related traits. These findings suggest that insomnia symptoms can serve as a promising target for improving IR and preventing type 2 diabetes (T2D).

Summary: This study aims to investigate the associations between HDL-C, triglycerides, and coronary plaque characteristics. The study found that lower HDL-C levels and higher triglycerides levels were associated with more necrotic core plaque components and the presence of fibro-fatty plaques in coronary plaques in patients with newly diagnosed CAD.

Summary: The study identified seven distinct multi-trajectories of blood lipid levels and found that individuals with rising triglyceride levels over time, even with optimal LDL-C levels, faced a significantly increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Despite the decline in LDL-C levels, there remained a considerable residual risk for CVD, emphasizing the importance of monitoring and potentially lowering triglyceride concentrations to reduce this risk.

Summary: The study found that serum HDL-C is an extremely useful marker for discriminating LPL deficiency from SHTG in the Japanese population, with high sensitivity and specificity, which can serve as an important indicator of the type of disease in patients.

Summary: A systematic review and meta-analysis found significantly lower lipid levels in hospitalized COVID-19 patients with severe disease or non-survivor status, which could be important for risk stratification and monitoring in this group. The study indicates potential associations between lipid profile alterations and disease severity and mortality in COVID-19 patients.

Summary: The association between HDL-CEC and CHD is inconsistent, and the genetic architecture of HDL-CEC is limited. In contrast to HDL-C, apolipoprotein A-I, and most HDL subclass particle concentrations, HDL-CEC is not unequivocally associated with CHD.

Summary: In patients with type 2 diabetes, higher triglycerides and TG:HDL, as well as lower HDL cholesterol, were independently associated with increased all-cause mortality. Gender had a modifying effect, with stronger relationships found between triglycerides and mortality in males, and between HDL cholesterol and mortality in females. These findings suggest that atherogenic dyslipidaemia, particularly TG:HDL, may serve as a predictor of all-cause death in individuals with type 2 diabetes.

Summary: This study used Mendelian randomization analysis to investigate the relationship between blood lipids and endometrial cancer risk. Genetically elevated LDL cholesterol levels were associated with reduced risk of endometrial cancer, while higher predicted HDL cholesterol levels were linked to increased risk of non-endometrioid endometrial cancer. Obesity may influence these associations, but triglycerides showed no evidence of involvement in endometrial cancer development.

Summary: Maternal lipid levels in early pregnancy are positively associated with childhood lipid levels in offspring, independent of maternal BMI and diet. This suggests that gestational lipid levels can be used as an early predictor of children's long-term health.
