Summary: This study reports a series of new compounds with anti-osteosarcoma activity. The antitumor activity, cell cycle progression, and apoptosis induction of these compounds were evaluated using innovative techniques and methods. Among the tested compounds, 1e, 1q, and 1r showed the most promising antitumor properties.

Summary: This study utilized gene expression analysis and bioinformatics methods to identify the key role of collagen type-IV alpha 1 (COL4A1) in the formation of ADR resistance in breast cancer cells and its close association with poor prognosis. Targeting COL4A1 may help improve the prognosis of breast cancer patients with ADR resistance.

Summary: Interferon-gamma induces autophagosome accumulation in osteosarcoma cells, with conversion of LC3-I to LC3-II and autophagic flux mediated by PKR activity. The cell death induced by IFN-gamma in osteosarcoma cells is independent of PKR. Further understanding of IFN-gamma-mediated molecular mechanisms may lead to improved targeted treatment strategies for osteosarcoma.

Summary: Osteosarcoma is a common malignant tumor with low survival rate. This study found that the hypoxia-related genes SLC2A1 and FBP1 are associated with the prognosis and immune cells and inflammatory markers in osteosarcoma. These findings provide clues for finding new therapeutic targets.

Summary: This study identified chemical components of an endophytic Penicillium from Dendrobium officinale, including nine citrinin derivatives and one peptide-polyketide hybrid. Among them, GKK1032B exhibited significant cytotoxicity against human osteosarcoma cells, inducing apoptosis through caspase pathway activation.

Summary: Activation of NF-kappa B p65, Akt, and ERK1/2 is associated with adriamycin and dexamethasone resistance via decreasing Bim expression. Combination treatment with NF-kappa B p65, PI3K, and MEK1/2 inhibitors can overcome drug resistance by increasing Bim expression. Low expression of Bim is related to poor prognosis in multiple myeloma patients.

Summary: The study provides evidence that suppressing autophagy-associated miRNAs with Adriamycin and Rapamycin can decrease cell survival in osteosarcoma. Some miRNAs, such as miR-3141, miR-4296, miR-133b, and miR-720, showed significantly increased expressions after suppression, potentially exacerbating the pathogenesis of osteosarcoma.

Summary: Understanding the molecular mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in osteosarcoma cells is crucial for developing new therapeutic approaches and improving the prognosis of patients. By screening and sequencing, several candidate genes associated with cisplatin resistance in osteosarcoma were identified, and a disease-free survival predictor model was created.

Summary: Osteosarcoma, the most common bone tumor in children and young adults, is also the second most fatal cancer. Despite the clinical benefit of chemotherapy, patients with osteosarcoma still face a poor prognosis due to drug resistance and frequent growth and metastasis of the disease. This study reveals a different mitochondrial phenotype in doxorubicin-resistant cancer cells and suggests targeting the altered pathway to reverse drug resistance. These findings contribute to understanding mitochondrial metabolism changes and developing strategies to overcome doxorubicin resistance in osteosarcoma.
