Summary: In this study, Se-doped graphitic carbon nitride nanotubes were successfully designed and fabricated for efficient electrocatalytic oxidation of biomass-derived furan compounds to produce maleic acid (MA). It was found that Se doping could tune the chemical structure of the materials, impacting the catalytic performance and mechanism. The excellent performance of C3.0N-Se-0.03 originated from the suitable amount of graphitic N and its better electrochemical properties, significantly boosting the oxidation pathway to MA.

Summary: This article presents an experimental understanding of the transition from conventional diesel combustion (CDC) mode to reactivity-controlled compression ignition (RCCI) combustion mode. A dual fuel control algorithm is developed for achieving a smooth transition between CDC and RCCI combustion modes. Changes in operating variables are investigated to determine the optimal path for smooth combustion mode transition.

Summary: Finite 2D/3D hierarchical perovskite structures are constructed using interfacial ligand confinement, resulting in efficient and stable inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs) and modules. The introduction of a diamine masking reagent regulates cation exchange and forms a finite and dense 2D layer, improving top-contact passivation and electron extraction. The inverted PSCs and modules with finite 2D/3D perovskite layers achieve remarkable power conversion efficiencies of 24.7% and 21.6% (certified PCE of 21.2%), respectively, making them one of the best-performing inverted mini-modules reported so far. Encapsulated PSCs retain over 90% of their original PCE after 1000 hours of illumination. Overall, this work presents an effective approach for further advancing perovskite photovoltaics.

Summary: RNA 2'-OH acylation is widely used for structure mapping and conjugation, and depends on selective reactions with unpaired nucleotides. We prepared a range of structurally diverse acylimidazole reagents and used deep sequencing to study their reactivity and selectivity in a variety of RNA structures. Our results demonstrate that the reagent scaffold significantly affects reactivity profiles and highlight new acylating agents with altered selectivity, including compounds that show elevated selectivity within loops and reduced off-target reactivity in loop closing base pairs. We also discovered a simple reagent that is cell permeable and can map RNA structure in the presence of protein contacts, and describe reagents with elevated selectivity within small loops for site-selective labeling.

Summary: This study proposes a new method to achieve efficient polymerization using a photoactivated epoxy/anhydride reaction. By adjusting the ratio of epoxy and anhydride, complete conversion can be achieved under visible light or near infrared light. The mechanical properties of the photoactivated epoxy/anhydride system are also detailed in this research.

Summary: The efficient synthesis of biologically interesting 3-thionated oxindoles was achieved by photoredox-mediated oxidative thiolation and cyclization of N-arylacrylamides with thiols, involving C-S and C-C bond formation. The reaction utilizes non-prefunctionalized thiolating reagents and TBHP as a key radical initiator under visible-light catalysis.

Summary: A convenient method for the preparation of thiolated compounds via a DBU-catalyzed aerobic cross-dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) reaction has been developed. The established protocol is environmentally friendly and operationally simple, leading to moderate to high yields of thiolated products from various substrates. These products can further be used in the preparation of bioactive compounds in a prefunctionalization-free manner.

Summary: A convenient method for the preparation of thiolated compounds has been developed via a DBU-catalyzed aerobic cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction. The established protocol is environmentally friendly, operationally simple, and allows for the transformation of various substrates into the corresponding thiolated products in high yields. These thiolated products can further be used in the preparation of bioactive compounds without the need for prefunctionalization.

Summary: Chiral transition metal complexes with privileged ligands are efficient catalysts for various asymmetric organic transformations. Transition metal complexes of C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands have been widely used in asymmetric organic reactions. However, a comprehensive review article on the transition metal complexes of chiral C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands derived from (L)-proline has not been published.
