Summary: The study evaluated the off-label aesthetic use of botulinum toxin type A (BoNTA) reconstituted with lidocaine for rejuvenation of the upper third of the face. Results showed immediate muscle paralysis after injections, providing optimal symmetric results without the need for touch-up procedures. No major complications were reported, indicating the potential of BoNTA reconstituted with lidocaine for predictable and effective cosmetic treatments.

Summary: This study compared three BT-AB tests and found that MDA was closely correlated with MLA, suggesting MDA might replace MLA as the gold standard for BT-AB measurement. SCMT was also closely correlated with MDA and MLA, confirming the functional balance between BT-AB titres and BT's paretic effect. When therapy failure is classified as secondary and permanent, BT-AB evaluation is recommended and any BT-AB test may be applied.

Summary: Spasticity is the most common motor disturbance in cerebral palsy (CP). The COVID-19 outbreak has disrupted spasticity treatment plans, including delays in botulinum toxin (BoNT) injections, leading to challenges in managing focal spasticity in children with CP. Experts recommend conservative management approaches as initial steps and advocate for BoNT injections with appropriate indications and precautions during the pandemic.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of combining botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A) and hyaluronic acid filler for wrinkle treatment. The results showed that the combination therapy group had lower FWS scores than the BoNT-A monotherapy group at rest and maximum frowning, and the subjects were more satisfied with the combination therapy.

Summary: This study assessed the efficacy of non-pharmacological adjunct therapies in spastic adults and found that joint posture procedures and active adjunct therapies may further improve treatment outcomes. However, further research is needed to determine the optimal strategies for adjunct therapies due to the diversity of treatment methods and heterogeneity of studies.

Summary: Surgical treatment of head and neck cancer often leads to tissue loss and deformities. This study explores the use of botulinum toxin type A, hyaluronic acid, and calcium hydroxyapatite as complementary methods for improving the outcomes of oculofacial prostheses. These additional cosmetic methods have been found to effectively address asymmetries, surgical depressions, and atrophic scars, leading to the development of smaller and better-fitting prostheses. However, limitations such as chronic infections and necrosis episodes have been observed, emphasizing the need for careful consideration and follow-up.
