Summary: Periodontal and peri-implant regeneration aims to restore damaged tissues around teeth and implants with a tailored approach based on the specific characteristics of each site. Current clinical practice relies on bone grafts, membranes for guided tissue regeneration, growth factors, and stem cells, combined with a patient-centered approach to achieve optimal results and reduce patient morbidity. Tissue engineering is constantly advancing, with a combination of biomaterials as the preferred choice in many cases for achieving reliable outcomes.

Summary: The development of a bioinspired peri-implant ligament with enhanced osteointegration and energy-dissipation capabilities presents new possibilities for creating high-performance implanted materials with increased lifespans. This artificial ligament, based on a polymer-infiltrated, amorphous, titania nanotube array, increases bone-implant contact and reduces effective stress transfer from implant to peri-implant bone, achieving results not previously seen with titanium implants.

Summary: Non-invasive light-based antibacterial therapy has limited efficacy due to poor penetration of light into human tissues, but a wireless-powered blue-light zirconia implant shows promise for treating peri-implant infections. It allows for complete irradiation to complex peri-implant structures and enables timely and controllable anti-infection treatment. The use of blue micro-light emitting diodes as therapeutic light sources effectively kills peri-implant infection-related bacteria without the need for external photosensitive agents.

Summary: Peri-implant diseases, characterized by chronic inflammation and destruction of soft and hard tissues around dental implants, have attracted attention due to their high incidence. Fusobacterium nucleatum (F. nucleatum), a common oral pathogen, has been shown to play a vital role in the occurrence and development of oral infectious diseases, including periodontal diseases. This review explores the role of F. nucleatum in periodontal diseases and discusses its potential significance in peri-implant diseases.

Summary: Periodontitis and peri-implantitis are diseases that lead to tooth and dental implant loss, and probiotics have been investigated for their potential beneficial effects. However, there is no definitive conclusion on the effectiveness of probiotics in periodontal management. Further studies are needed to validate their use and provide recommended protocols.

Summary: Soft tissue affects laser-induced cavitation, with softer tissue resulting in less effective cavitation. By adjusting PDMS stiffness and laser pulse modalities, cavitation can be enhanced. These findings suggest that implementing this new treatment method may improve outcomes in narrow spaces such as periodontal and peri-implant pockets.

Summary: Traditional treatments like chemotherapy and surgery often have severe side effects and cause pain. The emergence of nanomedicines and minimally invasive therapies has brought hope to patients with malignant diseases. Minimally invasive nanomedicines combine the advantages of nanomedicines and minimally invasive therapies, effectively targeting pathological cells and minimizing side effects. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the research status and challenges of minimally invasive nanomedicines and their applications in various fields.

Summary: The aim of this study was to examine the conditions of implants that had been in function for 5-17 years in stage III/IV periodontitis patients of a specialized periodontal practice. Results showed a high prevalence of peri-implant disease in patients treated for advanced periodontitis, with 37.1% of implants and 24.1% of patients showing peri-implant health, 58.7% of implants and 66.3% of patients presenting with peri-implant mucositis, and 4.2% of implants and 9.6% of patients suffering from peri-implantitis. These findings underline the challenges involved in the long-term maintenance of oral health in stage III/IV periodontitis patients restored with dental implants.

Summary: The study showed that curettage plus Er:YAG laser irradiation was the most effective method for removing bacteria and lipopolysaccharide. There was no significant difference in fibroblast adhesion between the control group and the group receiving combined treatment. The use of Er:YAG laser irradiation in conjunction with curettage optimized lipopolysaccharide clearance and fibroblast adhesion on titanium discs.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the influencing factors of computer-based test (CBT) results for dental students. The results showed that factors such as gender, age, and admission criteria did not significantly affect CBT scores, and there was no direct correlation between clerk's scores and CBT scores. The study concluded that the integration of textbook knowledge and clinical observation should be enhanced, and guidelines should be established to incorporate CBT into preclinical education and improve the clinical performance of dental students.
