Summary: This paper reports an electrocatalytic method for esterification of aryl halides using a combination of iron and nickel electrocatalysis. The reaction involves anodic iron-catalyzed oxidation of carbazates to produce alkoxycarbonyl radicals. Subsequently, the carbon-centered radicals undergo nickel catalysis driven by cathodic reduction to form radical coupling products. Mechanistic data demonstrate that arylnickel(II) species are crucial intermediates for the desired carbon-carbon bond formation.

Summary: A palladium-catalyzed reductive formylation of aryl iodides with carbon dioxide as the carbonyl source was achieved using Pd(PCy3)2Cl2 and di-2-pyridyl ketone as the catalyst and phenylsilane as the reductive reagent under mild reaction conditions. The reaction provided a variety of aromatic aldehydes in moderate to excellent yields and exhibited good substrate scope, functional group tolerance, and easy operation.

Summary: A general and efficient strategy for synthesizing aurones through carbonylation reaction of aryl bromides and terminal aromatic alkynes using CO2 has been established. Various aurones can be obtained in good yields under mild reaction conditions by utilizing different terminal aromatic alkynes and 2-bromophenol with hydrosilane in the presence of CO2. Moreover, a proposed palladium-catalyzed carbonylation reaction mechanism is presented for the preparation of aurones.

Summary: The iron chalcogenide carbonyl cluster and copper acetate were found to be excellent bimetallic catalysts for the C-N coupling reaction. The reaction proceeds under simple and solvent-free conditions, producing good yields of products in a short time. The method is effective for different types of amines and shows compatibility with certain functional groups. Additionally, it is the first report on the use of a zero-valent iron complex for C-N coupling reaction.

Summary: A new catalyst was introduced for the reductive functionalization of CO2 leading to consecutive double N-methylation of primary amines. The catalyst showed high efficiency in methylating a wide range of secondary and primary amines under mild conditions. Detailed mechanistic cycle was proposed through a series of control reactions and structural studies.

Summary: Metal-free graphitic carbon nitride supported on activated carbon was successfully synthesized via pyrolysis for the reductive N-formylation of nitro compounds without any solvent. The support activated carbon and pyrolysis atmosphere played important roles in the catalytic behavior of the catalyst. The catalyst exhibited good recyclability and provided an efficient and sustainable protocol for the synthesis of formamides from nitro compounds.

Summary: Biogenic dendritic fibrous Dy2Sn2O7 (Dy2Sn2O7 BDF) were greenly synthesized with the presence of Desulfovibrio alaskensis G20 using tin(IV) chloride pentahydrate and Dy(NO3)3.5 H2O as sources of tin and dysprosium. Various approaches were employed to investigate the specimens created with Desulfovibrio alaskensis G20. The properties of Dy2Sn2O7 BDF as a nanocatalyst were determined through EDS, TGA, TEM, XRD, and SEM, revealing its high ionic internal character, mechanical and thermal sustainability, and persistent colloidal stability.

Summary: Synthetic CO2-reducing catalysts are typically efficient and selective in converting CO2 into carbon feedstocks, and copper complexes resembling natural enzymes offer reversible CO2 reduction/oxidation reactions. By adjusting the conditions and catalyst biases, selective reduction or oxidation of CO2 can be achieved in organic or aqueous media.

Summary: A visible-light-induced, transition-metal and photosensitizer-free cross-coupling of aryl iodides with hydrazones was developed. Hydrazones were used as alternatives to organometallic reagents, making this cross-coupling mild and green. Mechanistic investigations revealed the formation of an electron donor-acceptor complex, generating an aryl radical via single-electron transfer.

Summary: Post-combustion carbon capture is an efficient way to mitigate CO2 emissions. However, traditional physical adsorbents face challenges in the presence of moisture. In this study, we synthesized polypyrrole adsorbent using Fenton's reagent and demonstrated its high adsorption capacity for CO2 in moist conditions. This green and facilely synthesized adsorbent has great potential for capturing carbon in high humidity flue gases.
