Summary: Mangifera indica can generate a significant amount of polluting by-products, but flavonoids and mangiferin found in it have been shown to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial activities that are closely related to the wound-healing process. The study analyzed the chemical composition of MEMI and found that it effectively promoted wound healing, reduced edema, and exhibited antibacterial activity against certain bacteria.

Summary: This study demonstrated the efficacy of a formulated wound healing hydrogel containing a hydroalcoholic extract of Moringa oleifera seeds. The hydrogel exhibited antioxidant and antimicrobial activities, and showed significant wound healing effects compared to control and standard treatment in both excision and incision wound models. Histopathological assessments further supported the positive results. These findings suggest that the hydrogel formulated with the hydroalcoholic extract of Moringa oleifera seeds could be a promising alternative therapy for wound management.

Summary: This study investigated the properties of Solanum lycocarpum starch bio-based edible films incorporated with a phenolic extract from jaboticaba peel, including antioxidant, antimicrobial, mechanical, optical, and barrier attributes. The optimized starch-PEJP film showed good transparency, high UV-blocking action, and strong antimicrobial properties. It also displayed a reddish-pink color, no cracks or bubbles, and 91% antioxidant activity against DPPH radical. Overall, the active starch-PEJP film demonstrated great potential as an environmentally friendly material with antioxidant, antimicrobial, and UV-protecting properties.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of biocomposite wrapping film enriched with dragon fruit peel extract on coconut milk caramels during storage. The biocomposite films had higher water vapor permeability and solubility than the commercial packaging film, but poorer mechanical characteristics. The lipid oxidation and hardness of the coconut caramels increased during storage.

Summary: The present study focuses on the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using hydro-alcoholic root extract of Potentilla fulgens and their wound healing properties in rats. Different concentrations of extract were allowed to react with silver nitrate and the completion of the reaction was confirmed through color change and UV-visible spectroscopy. The optimized formulation was characterized using various techniques and loaded into a topical gel for wound healing experiments in rats. The results showed that the synthesized silver nanoparticles exhibited promising wound healing properties.
