Summary: This study investigated the potential toxicity of repeated oral doses of DHA-S in rats. The results showed that DHA-S at doses of 100 or 200 mg/kg BW caused reduced body weight and food consumption, affected hematological indexes and organ weight, especially in female rats. Moreover, DHA-S significantly influenced blood biochemical parameters at doses of 100 or 200 mg/kg BW. Female rats were more susceptible to the toxic effects of DHA-S. The no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) of DHA-S in rats was determined to be 50 mg/kg BW/day.

Summary: The study investigated the pharmacokinetics and repeated oral toxicity of enniatin B (ENNB) in mice. ENNB showed high bioavailability after oral dosing, with elimination half-life and fecal excretion. The 28-day toxicity study revealed no adverse effects in mice at a dose of 30 mg/kg BW/day.

Summary: In this study, the repeated toxicity of curcumol, a natural product from traditional Chinese medicine, was evaluated. It was found that curcumol may have potential toxic effects on the blood system but did not cause any histopathological changes. These findings are important for the further study and application of curcumol as a new drug.

Summary: The 28-day repeated dose oral study on rats with Cylindrospermopsin (CYN) showed mild toxic effects with no toxicity relevance in male rats, while slight changes in biochemical parameters and organ weights were observed in female rats without toxicological significance. This suggests the need for longer oral toxicity studies to define the potential consequences of long-term CYN exposure.

Summary: This study provides the first toxicity evaluation of a mixed-valence polyoxovanadate (V15). The results demonstrate that V15 exhibits high cytotoxic activity, causing significant alterations in metabolic parameters related to the kidney and liver. The toxicity of V15 is attributed to oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, making it inappropriate for biomedical applications.

Summary: In this study, acetaminophen nanosuspensions (APAP-NSs) were prepared to improve oral bioavailability and reduce toxicity. The APAP-NSs had a mean diameter of 124 +/- 3.8 nm and showed higher dissolution compared to coarse drug. In vivo study demonstrated increased AUC(0-inf) and C-max in APAP-NSs-receiving animals and no toxicity up to 100 mg/kg in a 28-day repeated oral dose toxicity study in mice.

Summary: The study evaluated the genotoxicity and toxicity of BCP in Sprague-Dawley rats. BCP showed no genotoxic effects but caused mortality at high doses, with significant increases in cholesterol levels and treatment-related histopathological changes in the pancreas. The ALD of BCP was estimated to be over 1,000 mg/kg b.w., and the NOAEL was considered to be 250 mg/kg b.w. for male and female rats after repeated oral administration for 28 days.

Summary: The study investigated the potential adverse effects of Al(2)O(3)NPs in rats and found that repeated oral administration of up to 1000 mg/kg/day did not induce any treatment-related systemic toxicity. The NOAEL of Al(2)O(3)NPs was set at 1000 mg/kg/day with no target organs identified.

Summary: The objective of this study was to investigate the gastroprotective effects and subacute oral toxicity of black seed oil. The results indicated that the administration of black seed oil exerted gastroprotective effects by increasing the gastric wall mucus and decreasing gastric juice acidity. In addition, high-performance liquid chromatography detected 7.3 mg/mL of thymoquinone in black seed oil. These findings suggest that black seed oil may be a safe therapeutic drug for preventing gastric ulcers.
