Summary: This study investigated the predictors of foot ulcers among Egyptian diabetic patients, revealing that having three or more comorbidities, two or more diabetic complications, callus, and flatfoot are significant positive predictors of DFUs, while managing diabetes through diet, oral hypoglycemic drugs, and insulin, as well as intact vibration sense, were found to be protective predictors against DFUs. Close monitoring of diabetic patients with comorbidities and complications is recommended to reduce the risk of DFUs.

Summary: A retrospective study on the adverse events of patients undergoing multivisceral resection surgery for retroperitoneal sarcoma reveals that male gender, performance status, dedifferentiated liposarcoma histology, and low serum albumin level are significant predictors of major complications. Transfusion requirement is the only significant factor in predicting operative risk. Postoperative adverse events have no impact on overall survival or local recurrence.

Summary: Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a significant global public health burden, with over 400000 deaths attributed to HCV in 2015. The World Health Organization (WHO) has set the ambitious goal of eliminating HCV by 2030, but the issue of HCV infection in children and adolescents remains significant. In the United States, HCV infection rates in women of childbearing age and pregnant women have increased alongside the opioid epidemic, highlighting the need to focus on the younger population under 18 years old.

Summary: This study investigated the hepatitis B vaccination coverage among Bangladeshi healthcare workers in selected tertiary care hospitals. The overall vaccination coverage was found to be 66.6%, with the lowest coverage among cleaning staff. It was also found that many healthcare workers lacked training on hepatitis B virus prevention and management.

Summary: A study conducted at Vienna General Hospital assessed the treatment eligibility and uptake in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. They found that 9.2% of patients had severe fibrosis/cirrhosis, and 23.4%-29.5% met current treatment recommendations. The treatment uptake among eligible patients was high at 79.8%-89.2%.

Summary: This study aimed to explore candidate parameters for predicting survival and length of hospital stay in thermal burns patients and compare the performance of native models to other models. Data from a burn center in Lahore, Pakistan was used to prepare multivariate predictive models. The study found that total body surface area of burn, age, and burn etiology were associated with survival and hospital stay. The native models outperformed other models in predicting survival and length of hospital stay.

Summary: This study conducted in a tertiary-care hospital in Pakistan aimed to evaluate the frequency, type, and predictors of drug therapy problems (DTPs) among chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. The study found that high dosage, adverse drug reactions, and the need for additional drug therapy were the most common types of DTPs. It also identified age, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes as predictors of unnecessary drug therapy, dosage too high, and adverse drug reactions.

Summary: This study aimed to characterize patients with adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) in Taiwan and determine prognostic predictors of overall and progression-free survival. The findings showed that ENSAT stage, large vessel invasion, and mitotane use were significantly associated with overall survival. However, there were no independent predictors of progression-free survival.
