Summary: The study investigated the effect of highly ozonated sunflower oil on palatal wound healing. The results showed that the oil did not improve scar area, but instead decreased VEGF and increased oxidative stress marker MDA.

Summary: Chronic wounds impose a significant burden on individuals and the healthcare system, with pain being the most challenging aspect of living with these wounds. The cutaneous endocannabinoid system shows potential in addressing wound-related pain and inflammation, as well as promoting wound healing. However, more research, including preclinical studies and randomized control trials, is needed to fully explore the therapeutic applications of the endocannabinoid system in chronic wound management.

Summary: This study assessed the early wound healing, pain intensity, quality of life, surgical satisfaction, and related factors during periodontal surgery. The findings showed that these factors were closely related to disease severity, psychological factors, and surgical factors. It is recommended to enhance surgical details and implement behavioral and psychological interventions to improve outcomes and patient experiences during periodontal surgery.

Summary: The study aimed to develop a Chinese version of a chronic wound health-related quality of life instrument and examine its psychometric properties. Through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, 15 items were identified and divided into four subscales. The instrument demonstrated good reliability and validity.

Summary: The study evaluated the cost effectiveness of various sequential medical and surgical therapy strategies for endometriosis-related dysmenorrhea. Results showed that all treatment strategies were cost effective compared to surgery alone, with strategy 2 being the most cost-effective. Delaying surgical management after trying more than three medications may decrease quality of life and increase costs.

Summary: Patients with chronic wounds suffer significant impairments in health-related quality of life. The validated Wound-QoL questionnaire assesses the impact of chronic wounds on different aspects of HRQoL. Clinically relevant differences in HRQoL were found between patients with chronic wounds of different genesis.

Summary: Chronic skin wounds are a major cause of non-traumatic foot amputations worldwide and can significantly jeopardize the well-being and mortality of patients in the absence of effective treatment strategies. Ozone therapy, with its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and trophic effects, has emerged as a treatment option for patients who do not respond well to conventional therapies. This article explores the beneficial effects of ozone therapy in a case of chronic skin ulcer and discusses its role in the management of such ulcers and its potential application in inflammatory rheumatic diseases.

Summary: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of a structured intervention involving physical activity and exercise in improving healing of chronic venous ulcers at 3 months follow-up. A total of 224 individuals with venous ulcers will be included and divided into two groups, receiving standard treatment or a structured educational intervention. The primary outcomes are complete healing and time to healing, while the secondary outcomes include degree of healing, ulcer area, quality of life, pain, and variables related to the healing process, prognosis, and recurrences. Data will be collected at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months follow-up. If effective, the intervention could be implemented as an additional intervention in primary care.

Summary: This study found that personality characteristics have an impact on the long-term well-being and health-related quality of life (HrQoL) of breast cancer survivors. It also revealed that temperament and character affect the dimensions of HrQoL through pain-related and psychological factors in these survivors. These findings have important implications for clinical interventions and effective pain management to enhance the psychosocial well-being and HrQoL of breast cancer survivors.

Summary: People with an evening preference (E-types) are more susceptible to musculoskeletal pain and reduced health-related quality of life (HRQoL) compared to morning types (M-types). Eveningness intensifies the association between musculoskeletal pain and HRQoL, suggesting that individuals with an E-type preference are more sensitive to the consequences of musculoskeletal pain.

Summary: This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of intradermal administration of ozonated water on acute skin wound healing in diabetic rats. The results showed that the ozonated water group had lower blood glucose levels, smaller wound size, and increased body weight. Additionally, there were significant improvements in epithelial vascularization, stromal edema, and TGF and VEGF gene expression in the ozonated water group.
