Summary: Parents with a special social status, such as cadre parents, have spillover effects on other parents and children. This is because cadres in China have a broad influence on resource allocation, leading to responses from surrounding parents and students. Through a study on random classroom assignments in Chinese middle schools, it is found that increased exposure to classmates' cadre parents leads to parents paying more attention to their children's friendships and school-work guidance, which in turn improves the child's test scores. These findings highlight parental adjustments as a mediator of the external influence of peer parents on children.

Summary: This study investigates the long-term impacts of parents' cadre status on individuals' socioeconomic outcomes in China. The findings suggest that the children of cadres experience higher earnings/income levels in multiple periods, with the magnitude of this premium increasing in the early stages of their careers and decreasing later in life. Additionally, it is observed that sons, but not daughters, of cadres continue to enjoy socioeconomic advantages after marriage. These results indicate that cadres can improve their children's economic status through networking, enhancing education, and maintaining cadre status.

Summary: The article highlights that early tumor shrinkage and depth of response predict prognosis in colorectal cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors, but no cases of pseudoprogression were observed. Discrepancies with other studies may be due to differences in radiological evaluation criteria and timing of imaging.

Summary: The qualitative research examined the experience of receiving a discharge letter by patients and parents of epileptic children. The personalized discharge letter helps patients and parents feel seen, heard, and secure, facilitating more efficient communication with doctors and hospitals. It acts as a passport for patients to navigate through everyday life, bridging the communication gaps between healthcare professionals, patients, and parents, ultimately improving patient self-efficacy and quality of life post-discharge.

Summary: This paper utilizes longitudinal HRS data from 1996-2014 to examine the relative importance of intervivos transfers, bequests, and coresidency in the United States. The results show that there is a significant difference between the aggregate perspective and the parent-level longitudinal perspective when evaluating the importance of intervivos transfers versus bequests, highlighting the value of panel data. Additionally, coresidency tends to be more prevalent among younger, poorer parents and their children and children who coreside with parents receive larger intervivos transfers.

Summary: This study investigates different patterns of parent emotion socialization and identifies three distinct types of parenting: emotion coaching, emotion dismissing, and emotion disengaged. The findings provide empirical support for emotion socialization theories and contribute by proposing a third type of parenting, emotion disengaged. However, future research should focus on more diverse samples.
