Summary: Unbundling research from transactions under MiFID II leads to a decrease in the number of research analysts covering firms, particularly in large companies. However, this reduction is accompanied by a decrease in forecast error, possibly due to enhanced analyst competition leading to more accurate research from the remaining analysts.

Summary: Pre-operative radiation therapy for all patients with pelvic Ewing sarcoma may improve local recurrence-free survival, especially in patients with high necrosis rates and wide excision margins. Tumor volume >250 ml is associated with worse local recurrence-free survival and post-operative complications. Pre-operative proton-beam RT may show improved local recurrence-free survival compared to surgery and selective post-operative RT.

Summary: CuZrO3 has potential applications for CO2 reduction as a catalytic material, but its crystal structure remains unknown. Through structural prediction techniques and experiments, a possible sandwich-like structure was determined, with a thermodynamic preference for decomposition into CuO and ZrO2.

Summary: This study aimed to describe a protocol and assess the feasibility of harvesting and analyzing the mesocolic apical fragment (MAF) for the presence of central lymph node (LN) metastasis and extra lymphatic free tumor cells. The results showed that in the subgroup of ultrastaged MAFs, the margins of resection, mesocolic tissue, and LNs were all negative. Further research on larger cohorts is needed to determine the impact of analyzing MAF on patient staging, prognosis, and management.

Summary: The study aimed to clarify the clinicopathological characteristics and prognostic relevance of extra-nodal metastasis (ENM) in gastric cancer patients undergoing curative gastrectomy. Results showed that ENM was an independent prognostic factor with a prognostic significance different from that of lymph node metastasis.

Summary: Coffee terroir refers to the unique sensory experience derived from a single origin roasted coffee, influenced by environmental and agronomic factors. Parameters such as post-harvest processing, roasting, grinding, and brewing also impact the perception of terroir. The assessment of terroir requires defined sensory descriptors and standardized parameters. Coffee terroir is the result of various contributions and provides consumers with a distinctive coffee experience.

Summary: Many science educators argue for the inclusion of ethical issues in school science, however, there are objections and challenges faced by teachers. This study examines the curricula, textbooks, and perspectives of student teachers and established teachers in England and Germany on the teaching of ethical issues in secondary school science, particularly in relation to animal testing. The findings reveal that ethical considerations are emphasized in the curricula of both countries, but the treatment of ethical issues in textbooks is generally lacking, providing little opportunity for students to explore different ethical frameworks. Moreover, the interviews indicate that ethical issues are given less importance compared to fundamental science, possibly due to the lack of teaching materials and concerns over classroom management and accusations of indoctrination.

Summary: This article proposes defining terminal anorexia as a measure to improve access to palliative and hospice care, as well as medical aid in dying. However, there is concern that applying this label to anorexia nervosa may lead to unjustified decisions made by individuals whose mental illness impairs their capacity for rational decision-making.

Summary: For patients to make autonomous decisions in healthcare, understanding relevant information is crucial. However, there is a lack of consensus on what constitutes understanding in this context, and little attention has been given to assessing patient comprehension. In this paper, the author explores the conditions necessary for patients to adequately understand medical information and proposes criteria for assessing patient understanding in clinical practice.

Summary: This review summarizes the variables that may cause variation in TEWL. The current regulatory agencies have failed to control for additional variables of interest, therefore defining normal TEWL may currently be problematic. Researchers should continue to examine factors impacting individual skin integrity.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of the Mediterranean diet on lipid profile in children with primary hyperlipidemia. The results showed that the Mediterranean diet significantly improved total cholesterol, LDL-C, and non-HDL-C levels, and helped achieve target levels for lipid parameters. Saturated fatty acids were identified as the main dietary factor affecting the responsiveness to the Mediterranean diet.

Summary: In this study, the rationale of using PEDOT:PSS for Raman sensing was investigated through systematic experiments. The results showed that the Raman spectra of PEDOT:PSS accurately reflect its conformation and interactions with PSS. However, it was found that the same effects could be achieved by increasing the concentration of nonoxidizing electrolytes or deprotonating PSS chains, which poses limitations to the use of PEDOT:PSS for this type of Raman sensing.

Summary: In recent years, there has been a surge of interest in proprioceptive art, which directly engages the bodily senses. While some artworks in this category may appear to be purely entertaining, the best ones have the potential to connect people in a contemporary existence that is increasingly disconnected from physical sensations due to digital and online experiences. The works of Carsten Holler, a prolific German artist, are discussed in this context.

Summary: This study advocates for the wider utilization of ex vivo liver resection techniques for otherwise unresectable liver tumors. The results show favorable survival rates and demonstrate that the required skillset for ex vivo resection is widespread, with fewer complications than previously assumed.
