Summary: Insulin sensitivity for antilipolysis and lipogenesis is decreased in sedentary individuals, but only the association between antilipolysis sensitivity and physical activity remains significant. Fatty acid levels decrease following hyperinsulinemia, but remain higher in sedentary women. mRNA expression of insulin receptor and its substrates 1 and 2 is decreased in sedentary individuals.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of a multidisciplinary lifestyle-enhancing support for people with severe mental illness living in sheltered housing. Results showed that the intervention was not implemented as intended and did not lead to clinical health improvements, with organizational factors playing a key role in the success or failure of the implementation. More intensive implementation strategies at the organizational level are needed for lifestyle interventions in sheltered housing for people with severe mental illness.

Summary: The study compared the effects of endurance training and endurance-strength training on bone density and mass in abdominally obese postmenopausal women, showing a significant increase in whole-body bone density with endurance-strength training. There was a significant difference in lumbar spine bone mass changes between the two groups, but both training programs similarly improved physical capacity.

Summary: The prevalence of Parkinson disease is increasing, leading to a greater need for disease-modifying therapies, particularly in the early stages. Aerobic exercise is a promising lifestyle intervention for preventing progression from prodromal to manifest PD. Studies have shown that exercise may have disease-modifying potential and is associated with a reduced risk of developing PD. It is also a feasible intervention with minimal side effects.

Summary: Dance classes designed for people with Parkinson's have benefits in improving motor control abilities and mood. However, the quantitative evidence of these benefits is inconsistent. A mixed method approach was used to explore the effects of music in dance classes. The study found that music had a significant effect on improving gait before class, but not after class. The importance of music was further emphasized in qualitative data. Understanding how music and dance affect Parkinson's symptoms will help in the design of future interventions.

Summary: This study used Mendelian randomization to examine the causal relationships between physical activity/sedentary behavior and acute/chronic pancreatitis. The results showed a causal relationship between sedentary behavior and acute pancreatitis, indicating that reducing sedentary behavior can help prevent acute pancreatitis and reduce the associated health burden.

Summary: This retrospective study aimed to evaluate children observed for suspected precocious puberty during the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. The study found a significant increase in the number of children referred for suspected precocious puberty in 2020, especially among girls. The percentage of girls diagnosed with central precocious puberty was also higher in 2020 compared to the previous year. Additionally, the study found that girls with central precocious puberty in 2020 had a more prolonged use of electronic devices and a more sedentary lifestyle during the pandemic.

Summary: In addition to various symptoms, menopause leads to decreased balance performance and increased risk of falls. This review aimed to assess the effects of exercise interventions on balance in perimenopausal and early postmenopausal women. Twenty-six studies were included in the analysis, and the results showed that exercise improved balance measures, with whole-body vibration being the most effective intervention. Resistance and balance training also showed improvement in balance. Exercise should be considered as an adjunct therapy for perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.

Summary: The study demonstrated that online high-intensity interval training (HIIT) can effectively reduce body fat, BMI, and visceral fat in abdominally obese women with health complications due to COVID-19. Additionally, it was found to improve blood lipid profile, muscle strength, and reduce stress levels compared to moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT).

Summary: The study found that a functional rehabilitation program was superior to a traditional health care education program in improving neuropsychological functioning in post-stroke ULA patients. However, there were no significant differences in functionality or quality of life between the two groups. Statistically significant differences were found in all neuropsychological outcomes at posttreatment and follow-up.
