Summary: Existing research has shown the benefits of breastfeeding in the first six months of a baby's life. Previous studies on barriers to breastfeeding have focused on hospital initiatives, return to work, and individual mother's characteristics. This study examines if universal income support affects mothers' breastfeeding behaviors using data from Alaska's Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System and the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend. The findings reveal that income support is associated with increased breastfeeding initiation and short-term continuation among urban Alaskan mothers, with differences based on socioeconomic and demographic characteristics.

Summary: Racial/ethnic disparities exist in both prenatal breastfeeding intentions and meeting intentions, with non-Hispanic Black and Hispanic women facing challenges in meeting their longer breastfeeding intentions compared to non-Hispanic White women. Understanding the role of racism, bias, and discrimination in hindering women from meeting their breastfeeding intentions may help in reducing breastfeeding disparities.

Summary: This review examines nutrition education strategies and outcomes among refugees in the United States and other high-income countries. Challenges such as literacy levels, cultural barriers, and language obstacles are common in delivering nutrition education to refugees. Key strategies include conducting needs assessments, providing client-centered education, adopting a collaborative approach in program design, and incorporating hands-on activities like cooking and store visits to improve refugees' nutrition knowledge and diet-related behaviors.

Summary: This article aims to investigate the contraceptive dynamics among women with disabilities in low- and middle-income countries. The scoping review will gather and analyze relevant studies to identify the prevalence of contraceptive usage, unmet need, discontinuation, and switching among this population. The findings of this review will contribute to the understanding of contraceptive dynamics among women with disabilities in LMICs.

Summary: This study investigates the survival outcomes of early-onset colorectal cancer (EO-CRC) in high-income Asian and Middle Eastern countries, with a focus on gender differences. The results show a decline in mortality-to-incidence ratio (MIR) for both male and female EO-CRC cases from 1990 to 2019. Most countries in the region have higher MIR for females compared to males, and globally, males have a significantly higher MIR than females. Saudi Arabia particularly stands out with a significantly higher MIR for females.

Summary: A lack of published literature exists regarding large-scale burn prevention programs in LMIC that can demonstrate sustained reductions in burn incidence. Most initiatives focus on education-based interventions, with limited involvement of environmental modification interventions. While education-based initiatives generally improve knowledge on burn safety or first aid, few measure the impact on reducing burn incidence effectively.

Summary: The research found that high-income countries focus on increasing stakeholder participation and enhancing transparency in HTA processes, while middle-income countries prioritize raising awareness, training staff, and allocating resources. Issues with coordination among stakeholders and decision-making in HTA were identified, suggesting the need for a healthy ecosystem in HTA involving all members of the system.

Summary: This study evaluated the utilization and implementation of machine learning-based models for cancer outcomes in low and lower-middle-income countries (LLMICs). The results showed that these models mostly used traditional machine learning algorithms rather than deep learning algorithms. The construction of ML-based models was skewed towards specific countries such as India, Iran, Pakistan, and Egypt. Many models were considered suboptimal due to sample size constraints and technical flaws.

Summary: The measurement of food insecurity is crucial for monitoring its prevalence, risk factors, consequences, and interventions. Most measures focus on the access dimension of food insecurity, and further research is needed to develop comprehensive measures that incorporate quality of dietary intake, individual, household, and social conditions related to food insecurity.
