We provide predictions for the ratio R-Q(x, (Q)(2)) in the first three orders of perturbation theory at small values of the Bjorken variable x. We find that RQ(x, Q(2)) shows an approximate x-independence at low x and non-large Q(2) values (Q(2) <= 8 divided by 10m(Q)(2)), regardless of the gluon density in a proton used in the calculations. This observation could be beneficial for future phenomenological studies on heavy flavor production at lepton-hadron and hadron-hadron colliders.
We give predictions for the ratio R-Q(x, (Q)(2)) = F-L(Q)(x, Q(2))/F-2(Q)(x, Q(2)) at small values of Bjorken variable x in the first three orders of perturbation theory.
