Summary: This study evaluated the performance of different machine learning methods in predicting the tensile strength of microwave post-cured composite tailored for weight-sensitive applications. The results showed that the ANFIS and ANFIS-MOGA models were more accurate than the ANN model, and the optimized process settings yielded workable results. Therefore, selecting microwave post-cured composite for weight-sensitive applications is beneficial.

Summary: The effects of temperature, hydraulic retention time, and particle size of Arachis hypogea shell on biogas and methane yields were examined using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). An Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) was developed to predict the yields, and the performance of both RSM and ANFIS models was compared. The results showed that the ANFIS model outperformed the RSM model in terms of accuracy and prediction error.

Summary: In this study, the degradation of pollutants under natural sunlight using TiO2 as a photocatalyst was investigated in a batch reactor. The effects of photocatalyst dosage, reaction time, and pH on the removal of pollutants were evaluated. Design Expert-Response Surface Methodology Box Behnken Design (RSM-BBD) and MATLAB Artificial Neural Network - Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANN-ANFIS) methods were used for statistical modeling. Both models showed good prediction compared to experimental values, with R2 values of 0.920 for RSM-BBD and 0.990 for ANN-ANFIS.

Summary: This study investigates the use of a hybrid adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS)-response surface methodology (RSM) to improve the performance of a syngas-powered engine. By analyzing engine load and syngas composition, the study aims to optimize efficiency and reduce pollutant emissions. The results show that the developed ANFIS model has a good correlation and low errors, demonstrating its superior forecasting abilities. The optimal engine load and syngas composition for maximum production were determined to be 67.99% load and a 72.4:27.6 H2:CO syngas mix.

Summary: This study investigated the modeling and optimization of electrocoagulation-flocculation (ECF) for the recovery of aquaculture effluent (AQE) using aluminum electrodes. The response surface methodology (RSM), artificial neural network (ANN), and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) were employed for modeling, while the numerical RSM and genetic algorithm (GA) were used for optimization. The kinetics of the ECF process were also studied to understand its mechanism. The results showed that ANFIS performed the best in terms of prediction accuracy, and ANFIS-GA achieved the highest turbidity removal efficiency. The Elovich kinetic model had the best correlation with experimental data, indicating that electrostatic interaction governed the ECF process. This study demonstrated the effective modeling and optimization of AQE treatment using ECF, with ANFIS > ANN > RSM and ANFIS-GA > ANN-GA > RSM in terms of performance.

Summary: The effects of an alternative bleaching method on the total phenolic content (TPC) and antioxidant activity (AA) of yerba mate extracts were evaluated. Higher AA and TPC values were obtained when leaves were bleached followed by drying at higher temperatures. The RSM model delivered the best accuracy measures for submerging bleaching treatment, while the ANFIS Auto model was the best for traditional bleaching treatment.
