Summary: This study used nonlinear finite element analysis to compare the stresses induced by one piece dental implants and conventional two piece ones in All-on-4® implant supported restorations. The results showed that one piece dental implants caused less stress than two piece dental implants, and canine guided occlusion resulted in lower stress values compared to group function occlusal scheme.

Summary: The STIL technique utilizes modular templates to fix pins before tooth extraction, providing a reliable position for subsequent templates for implant insertion and placement of interim prostheses. This method minimizes errors in positioning surgical templates during immediate loading procedures after tooth extraction.

Summary: This study investigated the fracture resistance of one-piece screw-retained hybrid monolithic zirconia ceramic restorations in different implant angulations. The results showed that tilting the implant up to 15 degrees improved the fracture resistance, but increasing the tilt to 25 degrees did not significantly improve fracture strength. Therefore, one-piece screw-retained hybrid monolithic zirconia ceramic restorations can be used with acceptable fracture strength in esthetic zones with angulated implants.

Summary: For the treatment of impacted maxillary canines in adults, an alternative approach of retaining the impacted canine in its position and replacing the temporary canine with a dental implant is described. Clinical and CT-Scan examinations can help plan this treatment option to rehabilitate the area with an osseointegrated short implant where a canine is included, as long as there is sufficient remaining bone.

Summary: The study reported a case of dental implant failure with significant bone loss and described the use of reconstructive surgical techniques for treatment. A 58-year-old man with a history of implant surgery and mandibular implant failure was presented. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and intraoral scans were used to collect data, which were exported into Exoplan software to obtain a standard tessellation file. A customized mandible mesh design was created using DentalCAD 3.0 Galway software. The method involved bone reconstruction and the application of a custom titanium mesh based on guided bone regeneration, using a bone mix obtained from a combination of xenograft, allograft, and autograft. Titanium meshes were fixed to the bone with self-drilling screws and covered with a resorbable membrane. An impression was recorded immediately after surgery, and the patient received a milled polymethyl methacrylate interim denture the next day. According to the case study, the custom-made implant can be considered a temporary solution, allowing for guided bone regeneration to take place.

Summary: In this short-term study, immediately loaded fully tapered implants obtained high survival with similar osseointegration ability as apically tapered implants when placed in healed sites and fresh extraction sockets.

Summary: Immediate loading is a common technique in implantology, and digital dentistry is rapidly spreading. A randomized clinical trial compared analogical vs. traditional workflow for single-implant restorations, finding no significant differences in clinical or radiographic parameters but a clear patient preference for digital workflow comfort.

Summary: In this work, the strategy of immobilizing enzymes in bimetallic-organic frameworks was used to improve the stability and performance of laccases. CoCu-MOF-H and CoCu-MOF-OH were synthesized and modified with APTES to covalently graft laccase, resulting in Lac-CoCu-MOF-H-APTE and Lac-CoCu-MOF-OH-APTES composites. The Lac-CoCu-MOF-OH-APTES composite showed significantly higher enzyme activity and Congo red removal rate compared to Lac-CoCu-MOF-H-APTES and free laccase, making it a promising material for CR degradation in the future.

Summary: This study validated a mathematical rule based on soft tissues thickness for choosing the correct implant position to prevent marginal bone loss and bacterial colonization. Implants inserted according to this rule in the Biological Oriented Immediate Loading protocol showed 100% survival rate after 5 years with minimal marginal bone loss. The use of Multi Unit Abutment also contributed to a stable biological seal and successful healing of implants.

Summary: The review compared the clinical and radiographic performance of one-piece implants (OPI) and two-piece implants (TPI), finding similar short-term survival rates and complication incidences between the two types. However, TPI with platform switching showed a better reduction in peri-implant bone loss compared to OPI.

Summary: This study compared the clinical outcomes of immediate and non-immediate loading in single-implant restorations. The results showed no significant difference in any of the outcomes of interest between the two loading methods. Immediate loading can yield predictable long-term clinical outcomes if appropriate patient selection is made.

Summary: In this study, the clinical outcome of three esthetic implant-supported crown systems fabricated with a semi-digital workflow was evaluated, and their influence on the clinical outcome of dental implants was assessed. The results showed that the group using ultrahigh-translucent monolithic zirconia had the most favorable clinical behavior, while the group using polyetherketoneketone veneered with light-cured composite resin had the least favorable outcome. All crown systems had comparable success rates and peri-implant marginal bone loss.
