Summary: Three new phenanthrene derivatives (1, 2, 4), one new fluorenone (3), and four known compounds (5-8) were isolated from Dendrobium crumenatum Sw. stems using column chromatography, and their chemical structures were determined through spectroscopic analysis. Compound 4's absolute configuration was determined through electronic circular dichroism calculation. The compounds 2 and 4 showed strong immunomodulatory effects on T cells and monocytes.

Summary: Two new dibenzyl derivatives, dendrocandins V-W (1-2), along with six known compounds (3-8), were isolated from the dried stems of Dendrobium catenatum. Their structures were identified using HRESIMS, one- and two-dimensional NMR techniques. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their antioxidant and hypoglycemic activities, with compound 8 showing moderate DPPH scavenging activity, and compounds 5, 7-8 exhibiting significant ABTS radical scavenging activities. Compounds 6-7 showed potent alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activities.

Summary: Two new bibenzyl-phenylpropane hybrids, dendrophenols A and B (1 and 2), along with nine known bibenzyls, were isolated from the aerial part of Dendrobium devonianum Paxt. Their structures were determined by extensive spectroscopic methods and methylation. Bioassays revealed that compounds 1-9 exhibited specific immunosuppressive effects on T lymphocytes, with IC50 values ranging from 0.41 to 9.4 μM. Compounds 1 (IC50 = 1.62 μM) and 2 (IC50 = 0.41 μM) showed promising potential as immunosuppressive agents for T lymphocytes, with selectivity indices of 19.9 and 79.5, respectively.

Summary: Antioxidants are substances that can effectively inhibit the oxidation reaction of free radicals, and there are many chemical components with antioxidant activity in natural products. Sesamol is a natural product with antioxidant activity, and it is often used as an antioxidant in food, medicine and other fields. Sesamol derivatives synthesized in this study have shown good antioxidant activity, with compound 4d exhibiting the best antioxidant activity. Further studies on the use of sesamol derivatives as antioxidants in various fields are needed.

Among the new compounds, 1 and 2 are indole alkaloids with a seven-membered fused N-heterocyclic ring, while 3 and 4 are quaternary ammonium derivatives. Compounds 1 and 3 showed potent inhibitory activity against alpha-glucosidase with IC50 values of 413.7 and 364.4 μM, respectively.

Summary: This study confirmed the potential of Dracaena angustifolia Roxb in regulating glucose dysregulation through in vitro experiments and computer simulations. Several compounds found in Dracaena angustifolia Roxb showed high inhibitory effects on alpha-glucosidase, with synergistic effects observed in combination with acarbose. Additionally, one compound was predicted to be a potential inhibitor of human enzymes. These findings are important for the application of Dracaena angustifolia Roxb in diabetes treatment.
