Howard Ryland, Jonathan Cook, Rob Ferris, Sarah Markham, Christian Sales, Raymond Fitzpatrick, Seena Fazel

Summary: Forensic mental health services provide care to individuals in secure psychiatric hospitals and community teams, with a need to measure outcomes for patient safety, progress monitoring, treatment planning, and service evaluation. England has developed a new outcome measure for forensic mental health services through patient interviews and stakeholder focus groups, identifying six thematic analysis domains. This new measure, FORensic oUtcome Measure (FORUM), includes both patient-reported and clinician-reported measures, with further assessment needed for tracking patient progress and facilitating shared decision-making and care planning.

Marisa Casanova Dias, Ekin Sonmez Gungor, Sean Naughton, Howard Ryland, Thomas Gargot, Mariana Pinto da Costa, Athanasios Kanellopoulos, Franziska Baessler, Livia De Picker

Summary: There are currently no specific guidelines on the standards and structure of postgraduate perinatal psychiatric training in Europe. Only 6 out of 34 countries provide specialist perinatal psychiatry training, while the majority of countries expressed the desire to include it in their national training curricula. There is a gap between the expected skills and the available training for psychiatrists in addressing the mental healthcare needs of women in the perinatal period.
