Summary: The aim of this study is to examine the impact of emotional solidarity, stakeholders' attitude, stakeholders' commitment, perceived economic benefit, and cost on sustainable tourism development in Iran. Data was collected from 258 Iranian stakeholders and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings suggest that emotional solidarity and stakeholders' attitude directly influence perceived economic benefit. Stakeholders' attitude and commitment affect perceived cost, and perceived economic benefit mediates the relationship between emotional solidarity, stakeholders' attitude, and sustainable tourism development. This study contributes to the existing literature by confirming the link between various factors and support for sustainable tourism development. It also provides practical implications for local authorities and tourism policies in Iran.
