Summary: The study shows that NOS2 is involved in regulating adipogenic differentiation in rat MSCs through the overactivation of the STAT3 signaling pathway. This leads to the promotion of adipocyte formation while having no significant effect on osteogenic differentiation.

Summary: The study revealed that Cryptolepine inhibits multiple signaling pathways including the IL-6/STAT3 pathway, and in the presence of IL-6, it dose-dependently decreases the levels of p-STAT3 and IL-23. This suggests that Cryptolepine-based remedies could potentially be used as an effective immunotherapeutic agent for hepatocellular carcinoma and other cancers.

Summary: IL-6 KO mice exhibited reduced weight gain and inhibited bone loss, expansion of bone marrow adipose tissue, adipogenesis in bone marrow, and bone formation under high-fat diet conditions. IL-6 KO also suppressed the clone formation of bone marrow cells and the expression of senescence markers. Additionally, IL-6 antibody inhibited the activation of STAT3 and senescence in bone mesenchymal stem cells, while rescuing IL-6 induced senescence in IL-6 KO mice through the STAT3/p53/p21 pathway.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Chaihu-Shugan-San, a traditional Chinese medicine formula, on post-stroke depression (PSD) in a rat model and investigate the underlying mechanisms. The results showed that Chaihu-Shugan-San exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting neuroinflammation and regulating microglia polarization via the activation of the JAK/STAT3-GSK38/PTEN/Akt pathway.

Summary: The study found that the flavonoid Luteolin (Lut) has chemopreventive effects on pancreatic cancer in a hamster model, potentially through inhibiting the STAT3-DPYD pathway. Additionally, high expression of DPYD in human PDAC was associated with poor prognosis.

Summary: This study found that dedifferentiated melanoma cells have different effects on the contractile properties of lymph node fibroblasts compared to melanocytic cells. Factors secreted by dedifferentiated cells strongly inhibit the contractile forces of fibroblasts, while those secreted by melanocytic cells do not. Furthermore, dedifferentiated melanoma cells also modulate the biomechanical properties of lymph nodes, promoting tumor invasion.

Summary: Pterostilbene (PTS) shows potential as a drug for treating gallbladder cancer by inhibiting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, inducing apoptosis, and reversing epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) through PI3K/Akt signaling inhibition. Tumor xenograft models also demonstrate PTS's ability to inhibit tumor growth with low toxicity, consistent with in vitro data.

Summary: 18 beta-glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) inhibits TGF-beta-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells by reducing the phosphorylation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3). This provides a potential therapeutic target for HCC management.
