Summary: The ongoing assault on abortion care in the United States calls for national action to address the gaps in care and training. Health organizations emphasize the importance of access to contraception and abortion care for reproductive health. We need to prevent further restrictions and advocate for abortion care as an integral part of comprehensive reproductive medical care.

Summary: This study explored the organizational barriers and facilitators to the use of geriatric telemedicine specialty care in rural community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs). Interviews with clinicians and staff revealed that partnerships, knowledge of geriatrics and telehealth resources, outreach from specialists, and use of other telehealth services enabled CBOCs to offer geriatric telemedicine care. However, constraints on space and internet connectivity, limited familiarity with telemedicine resources, and perceptions of older veterans' preferences for in-person visits were identified as barriers.

Summary: This study aimed to analyze trending plastic surgery videos on TikTok and understand the dynamics of the #PlasticSurgery conversation. The results showed that videos made by board-certified plastic surgeons were more popular than those made by non-plastic surgeons. The most popular procedures featured were augmentation mammaplasty, body contouring procedures, and rhinoplasty. Educational videos had significantly higher levels of engagement compared to entertainment-focused videos.

Summary: Fragile and conflict-affected settings face a disproportionate burden of antimicrobial resistance due to weak health policies, disrupted medical supply chains, and lack of knowledge and awareness about antibiotic stewardship. This paper presents the experiences of Médecins Sans Frontières and the International Committee of the Red Cross in responding to antimicrobial resistance and provides practical recommendations for including antimicrobial stewardship in primary healthcare in conflict settings.

Summary: This study examines the relationship between access to health care and worker productivity using US county data, with a focus on rural-urban differences. The findings suggest that access to health care indirectly affects worker productivity through health outcomes, and this relationship is strongest in metropolitan areas. The results show that a 1% increase in the number of physicians per 100,000 persons in the region could lead to an increase in earnings per worker of between $68.21 and $81.10, depending on the measure of health. However, the impact is nearly 10 times higher in metropolitan areas compared to nonmetropolitan areas.

Summary: Access to dermatology care is poor in the US, especially in rural areas with fewer dermatologists and limited resources. Various potential interventions have been analyzed through modeling, with some showing promising results in reducing appointment delays and travel for external care. This model-based analysis can help evaluate interventions and policies to address rural care disparities.

Summary: Precision nutrition is a rapidly growing field in nutrition research that focuses on understanding the individual variability in response to diets. It has been found that gene-diet interactions and the gut microbiome play important roles in determining health outcomes such as obesity and weight loss. Incorporating multiple omics factors such as the genome, epigenome, metabolome, proteome, and microbiome in predictive algorithms can further enhance precision nutrition research. The evidence gathered from precision nutrition research will be crucial in developing personalized dietary recommendations for precision health in the future.
