Summary: To improve the selection efficiency of nanobodies against atrazine in a phage display library, anti-carrier protein phages were depleted using immunomagnetic beads conjugated with bovine serum albumin. This depletion strategy tripled the number of atrazine-positive phage clones and resulted in the selection of a sensitive phage clone with greater thermostability and organic solvent tolerance compared to a monoclonal antibody. The Nb3-based immunoassay showed similar specificity but higher IC50 and method detection limit compared to the mAb 5D9-based immunoassay.

Summary: In this study, an ic-ELISA method was developed using a new generation metabolite (DMEQ)-based monoclonal antibody (mAb) for the rapid detection of Qx residues in food. The method exhibited high sensitivity and a wide linear range, and showed good cross-reactivity with multiple DQx. Furthermore, the method demonstrated good correlation with LC-MS/MS results in animal-derived foods, indicating its potential for rapid screening of Qx residues.

Summary: The plant expression platform is a new source for producing IgG targeting small low-molecular-weight molecules. The study demonstrated that plant-produced functional IgG maintained the binding activity and specificity of IgG derived from mammalian cells, showing potential as an efficient and cost-effective platform for antibody production in immunoassays targeting low-molecular-weight compounds.

Summary: Zeolite, oyster shell powder (OSP), and humic acid (HA) showed high affinity for malachite green (MG) and its metabolite leucomalachite green (LMG) in both freshwater and seawater, while Chloride dioxide (ClO2) exhibited greater efficiency for MG and LMG degradation. These water treatment agents have the potential to reduce the amount of hazardous MG and LMG residue in aquatic environments.

Summary: A novel ratiometric fluorescence immunoassay was developed for monitoring the illegal use of malachite green (MG) in aquaculture. The method showed a linear ratiometric fluorescence response for MG with a limit of detection of 0.097 mu g center dot kg(-1) and recoveries ranging from 81.88 to 108%. It offers rapid detection, simple sample preparation, and stable signal readout.

Summary: Licochalcone A (LicoA), a compound found in Chinese licorice, has been approved for the treatment of rosacea and acne due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. A monoclonal antibody against LicoA was developed using a mannich reaction hapten conjugate and hybridoma technique. An ELISA method was then developed to quantitatively determine the concentration of LicoA. This method showed high specificity and can be used for quality control of licorice and its derived products.
