Summary: There has been a great debate about the potential of three-dimensional virtual worlds for social communication, known as the metaverse, since Mark Zuckerberg announced its development. It is believed that the metaverse could revolutionize mental health treatment by creating a full-body illusion through digital avatars. However, it is unclear how the metaverse would be advantageous compared to the well-established virtual reality exposure therapy in treating psychological disorders.

Summary: The present study redefines the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) through a mixed-method investigation to examine dating-partner behavior in the metaverse using innovative variables. It also investigates the moderating role of realistic threat and perceived trust in the proposed model. The research consists of two parts: the first collects dating app users' responses from online reviews on social media sites, while the second validates the model through confirmatory analysis using identified constructs. Perceived trust moderates the association between perceived attitude and dating intention in the metaverse, whereas realistic threat does not. The study highlights the importance of various factors in shaping perceived attitude, except for perceived accuracy of information, and emphasizes the need to address privacy and security concerns to gain users' trust.

Summary: This review discusses the potential of precision nutritional approaches for cardiovascular disease prevention, highlighting actionable intervention targets based on individuals' biology and lifestyle. The authors suggest high-density lipoproteins (HDL) as a compelling target for precision nutrition and emphasize the importance of understanding the nuances of HDL structure and function at an individual level for personalized dietary and lifestyle strategies. Recent findings indicate that factors such as diet, genetics, glycosylation, and gut microbiome play a role in modulating HDL function, underscoring the need for personalized approaches to optimize HDL-mediated atheroprotection and reduce cardiovascular disease risk.

Summary: This paper investigates the economic dynamics of the metaverse through the analysis of on-chain data from a blockchain game. The New Keynesian Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) model is implemented to explore the token inflation in the metaverse economy. By incorporating in-game cryptocurrency, the standard DSGE models are extended to capture the demand and supply of NFT assets. The paper compares the responses to tokenomic shocks that affect the metaverse economy. It is the first study to utilize on-chain token holding data and DSGE models to examine the metaverse economy.

Summary: The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of using a metaverse in maker education through empirical research. The control group participated in a regular maker class promoting digital content creation for competitions, while the experimental group registered their digital artwork as blockchain-certified NFTs and showcased them in a metaverse virtual exhibition. The findings indicate that both groups exhibited a significant statistical difference in terms of creative problem-solving and curiosity, but only the experimental group showed improvement in creative cognition. Additionally, the metaverse treatment positively influenced students' sense of achievement and ownership towards their creations.

Summary: Personality disorders are often treated through face-to-face sessions or digital mental health services. Schema therapy is a standout therapy that not only targets the symptoms of personality disorders, but also focuses on addressing their underlying causes by healing early maladaptive schemas. This therapy is particularly effective at soothing emotional disturbances before implementing cognitive restructuring, leading to long-term efficacy. However, according to Piaget's genetic epistemology, the formation of adaptive behavioral schemas can only occur through interaction with the real world and feedback from the environment. Therefore, to reshape a patient's schema modes and restore their emotional regulation capabilities, it may be necessary to reconstruct the patient's surroundings. Metaverse, the successor to the Internet with a sense of full presence, can be a powerful tool for this purpose, allowing therapists to transform schema therapy techniques into natural autobiographical experiences within a new virtual environment. This can gradually reshape the patient's schema modes, ultimately enabling more adaptive and inclusive interaction with the real world.

Summary: There is a paradigm shift in the patient-clinician relationship due to the changes in information access. However, the model under which clinicians are trained and care is conducted has not changed significantly. The rise of participatory health has empowered people to take control of their lives and health, partnering with physicians as needed. To fully drive this paradigm change, patient centricity needs to become a more active, collaborative process driven by both parties' needs and preferences.

Summary: The rapid advancements in AI have led to the development of sophisticated large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-4 and Bard. The potential implementation of LLMs in healthcare settings has gained attention due to their diverse applications, but caution is necessary as these models are trained differently and require regulatory oversight to ensure safety and protect patient privacy. This paper provides practical recommendations for regulators to bring this vision to reality.
