Summary: The study analyzed the diagnostic accuracy of chest CT and RT-PCR for COVID-19 pneumonia in early and progressive stages, finding that chest CT can supplement the shortcomings of RT-PCR, especially in detecting pulmonary abnormalities in progressive stage patients with 100% effectiveness.

Summary: This case report presented a 58-year-old never-smoking housewife who was initially misdiagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia and eventually diagnosed with organizing pneumonia using transbronchial cryobiopsy assisted by ECMO. When surgical lung biopsy is not feasible, ECMO-supported TBCB may be a good choice for obtaining histopathological diagnosis in patients with acute lung injury of unknown etiology.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the safety of transbronchial lung biopsies (TBLBs) in patients with pulmonary hypertension through a systematic review and meta-analysis. The results showed that patients with pulmonary hypertension did not have a significantly higher risk of bleeding after TBLB compared to control subjects, but they were at a higher risk of hypoxia and longer duration of mechanical ventilation.

Summary: VEXAS syndrome is a multisystem disorder caused by somatic mutations in the UBA1 gene, primarily affecting elderly men. Common clinical manifestations include fever, skin lesions, and respiratory symptoms. Chest CT findings include parenchymal opacities, mediastinal lymphadenopathy, airway abnormalities, and pleural effusion. Glucocorticoid therapy is effective but relapses are common, necessitating the use of other immunosuppressive agents.

Summary: Patients with ABPA may have shadows resembling CEP, but typical CEP findings on HRCT (peripheral consolidation or ground-glass opacities) can help differentiate the two. The Non-EP group showed higher levels of the fungal marker beta-D glucan, and there was a strong positive correlation between absolute eosinophil count and Aspergillus-specific immunoglobulin E titers.

Summary: This study evaluated the feasibility of mobile 3D imaging assisted transbronchial biopsy of pulmonary GGO nodules and demonstrated the potential value of this method in bronchoscopic procedures. The results suggest that a one-stop shop bronchoscopy workflow combining both biopsy and ablation for lung lesions in one session could be made possible by utilizing a hybrid mobile 2D/3D C-arm system in the bronchoscopy suite.

Summary: This study evaluated the safety and diagnostic performance of CT-guided FNA before MWA in GGNs. FNA and CNB showed similar positive rates, but sequential FNA and CNB had a better diagnostic performance. CNB had a lower diagnostic yield for pure GGNs compared to part-solid GGNs.

Summary: The study found that IL-6 plays an important role in the tumor microenvironment of early lung adenocarcinoma, and there may be a correlation between its changes and NK cells. The experimental results confirmed this connection, which helps to understand the pathogenesis of early lung cancer.

Summary: The study focused on the clinical spectrum and outcomes of COVID-associated Mucormycosis (CAM) in patients with diabetes. It found a high incidence of CAM in COVID-19 patients with diabetes, poor glycemic control, and prior exposure to high dose corticosteroids contributing to the surge. The mortality rate of CAM patients during the study period was 12.5%.

Summary: Pancreatic carcinoma is a major cause of cancer-related deaths globally, with surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy being the current standard of care. Recent advancements in neoadjuvant therapy and chemoradiotherapy have shown promise for resectable and borderline resectable PC. Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian government initiated the construction of a 1,000-bedded greenfield hangar-based hospital in Delhi to cater to the inadequate healthcare facilities. The hospital was conceptualized, built, and operationalized in just 12 days, and the patient-centric approach was emphasized throughout the process. This rapid construction and deployment of the hangar-based hospital serve as a model for future emergency healthcare responses.
