Summary: Despite stakeholder pressure, only 36% of Spanish firms have implemented a corporate strategy towards the 2030 Agenda. The correlation between the SDGs and corporate sustainability reporting systems has barely been studied. Findings revealed a high inconsistency between GRI disclosures and actions performed by firms, prompting the suggestion of a quantitative framework for measuring corporate contributions in the achievement of the SDGs.

Summary: Sustainable development concerns have been incorporated into global value chains, but our understanding of the sustainability effects of sustainable value chains is limited by the narrow focus, methodological weaknesses, and contextual diversity. This article analyzes the contributions of sustainable coffee value chains to sustainable development, finding that the effects vary across dimensions and standards. Fairtrade has a greater impact on social sustainability, while organic standards and the Rainforest Alliance have a greater impact on ecological sustainability. Sustainable coffee value chains have more contributions to social and ecological sustainability than economic sustainability, but combining standards can reduce trade-offs. The sustainability effects also differ across cooperatives due to their heterogeneity.

Summary: The past two decades have witnessed an increased use and evolving forms of governance instruments to promote sustainability in increasingly complex and varied contexts. These primarily voluntary instruments combine sustainability strategy and/or monitoring guidance with marketable public information, but there is still a need for evaluation of legitimacy. The One Planet Living framework established by Bioregional in the UK has been successful in promoting effective, participatory, and transparent programs, with limitations related to uptake, resource requirements, and measurement integration.

Summary: This study aims to assess the extent of SDG disclosures in annual reports of companies in Sri Lanka and identify the reasons affecting such disclosures. The results show that SDG 9 and SDG 17 are the most disclosed SDGs, but the overall level of disclosure remains low. Interviews suggest that companies primarily use SDG disclosures to enhance their legitimacy rather than actively adjusting their operations to integrate SDGs.

Summary: This study explores the extent to which sociocultural principles are included in aquaculture certification standards and finds that current standards focus more on health and well-being issues while neglecting ethical practices and issues affecting indigenous peoples and local communities. The study also compares several certification standards and concludes that some standards are weaker in addressing sociocultural sustainability. The exclusion and lack of attention to crucial sociocultural issues in certification standards can potentially undermine the goal of ensuring sociocultural sustainability in aquaculture.

Summary: Despite political volatility, Yemen's construction sector is gradually progressing to satisfy housing needs. This study analyzes factors that drive sustainable practices in construction projects, with the economic factor being the most crucial. Competitiveness, improved well-being, and improved indoor environmental quality are identified as top priorities in the economic, social, and environmental dimensions respectively. The findings emphasize the importance of a proactive approach and additional policies to enhance the competitiveness of sustainable construction.

Summary: Organic standards serve as a governance mechanism to ensure consumer transparency and promote sustainable food systems. While third-party certification and Participatory Guarantee Systems are widely used in the governance of organic food production, research on their sustainability dynamics is lacking. The study reveals that third-party certification focuses on ecological and economic aspects of sustainability, while Participatory Guarantee Systems foster social, ecological, economic, and political sustainability in organic food systems.

Summary: Energy security, job development, and minimal environmental damage are the main reasons for the popularity of green energy technologies. This study focuses on the bottlenecks in developing these technologies in underdeveloped countries, using South Africa as a case study. By utilizing a Multi-Objective Optimization based on Ratio Analysis (MOORA) strategy combined with an Evaluation based on Distance from Average Solution (EDAS) method, the study identifies social, institutional, and regulatory bottlenecks as the most impactful. Corrupt political systems, lack of public knowledge, and fixed investments are found to be the major obstacles. The study highlights the importance of a bottom-up policy approach and the need to strengthen government agencies to promote green energy technologies.

Summary: The study examines the impact of customer perceived value, COVID-19 fear, food neophobia, effort, natural content, and organic food availability on the intention to purchase organic food (IPOF) and the actual purchase of organic food (APOF). The findings indicate that customer perceived value, effort, and natural content have a positive relationship with IPOF, while COVID-19 fear and food neophobia have a negative association. Both IPOF and organic food availability are positively related to APOF, with the latter significantly moderating the relationship.

Summary: This study examines the impact of social interaction anxiety on compulsive chat with a social chatbot named Xiaoice, while exploring fear of negative evaluation (FONE) and fear of rejection (FOR) as mediators in this relationship. The authors find that social interaction anxiety increases compulsive chat with Xiaoice both directly and indirectly through FONE and FOR. The mediating effect of FONE operates through FOR, establishing a serial link between social interaction anxiety and compulsive chat with a social chatbot. Frustration about unavailability (FAU) also strengthens the relationship between FOR and compulsive chat with a social chatbot.

Summary: The growing human demand for natural capital driven by anthropogenic activities may result in ecological overshoot, therefore, it has become inevitable to rethink sustainable pathways. This study investigates the impact of economic openness and multifaceted capital on ecological sustainability using the panel quantile regression estimator. The findings suggest that economic openness and financial deepening undermine ecological sustainability, while human capital formation strengthens it.

Summary: Although social commerce influences impulse purchase behavior, no research has examined the impact of different uses of social commerce on online impulse purchase and their mechanisms. This study investigates the relationships between cognitive use, hedonic use, social use of social commerce, and online impulse purchase with the mediation of social capital and information overload. The results show that social use, cognitive use, and hedonic use positively affect social bridging, social bonding, and information overload. Social bridging and social bonding positively influence online impulse purchase, while social bonding negatively influences technostress. Information overload positively influences technostress but negatively influences online impulse purchase. In addition, technostress negatively affects online impulse purchase. This study contributes in understanding the influencing mechanisms of different uses of social commerce on online impulse purchase and provides guidelines for managers to promote consumers' impulse purchases more effectively.

Summary: In this study, MoO3 nanostructures doped with different concentrations of graphene oxide (2% and 4% GO) and a fixed amount of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) were prepared using the co-precipitation method. The aim was to enhance the antibacterial activity of MoO3 by reducing the exciton recombination rate through the addition of GO and PVP. The results showed that 4% GO/PVP-doped MoO3 exhibited significant bactericidal potential against Escherichia coli.

Summary: This research explores the use of graphene oxide (GO)-doped CaO nanocomposites for efficient antibacterial potential and dye degradation. The addition of GO into CaO quantum dots (QDs) improves charge transfer and reduces the recombination rate of electron holes. Various concentrations of GO-doped CaO showed excellent catalytic activity for methylene blue degradation. Additionally, the GO-doped CaO exhibited remarkable bactericidal potency against Escherichia coli.

Summary: Microplastic pollution negatively impacts the aquatic ecosystem, living organisms, and human health. Research in Malaysia has provided information on the presence of microplastics in surface water, ingestion by marine life, and sediment. Humans are also exposed to microplastics through consuming contaminated products. However, there is limited knowledge among Malaysians regarding the management and remediation of microplastics, posing a challenge to environmental preservation. Green technologies offer alternative solutions for reducing microplastic contamination. This review aims to provide an overview of microplastics in Malaysia's aquatic environment, including detection methods and treatment processes. It also discusses challenges, perspectives, and green strategies for plastic management.
