Summary: The study validated regression equations to predict the state of maturity (MS) and found differences between Moore's and Mirwald's equations in predicting MS in Chilean children and adolescents. Moore's equation could be useful for evaluating MS in this population.

Summary: This study evaluated the psychometric properties of the Authoritative School Climate Survey (ASCS) in a sample of Chilean adolescents. The results confirmed a two correlated factors structure and significant relationships between authoritative school climate and attitude toward institutional authority. The study provides evidence of the scale's psychometric quality for assessing authoritative school climate in the Chilean context.

Summary: The study found that the visceral adiposity index (VAI) had a better performance in predicting metabolically unhealthy phenotype in children and adolescents compared to traditional adiposity indicators. VAI was most strongly related to metabolically unhealthy phenotype and could be used as a comprehensive predictor to identify unhealthy metabolic phenotype in this population.

Summary: This study provides percentile curves for short-course swimming events and compares differences in race times between cross-sectional analysis and longitudinal tracking. The results show that longitudinal tracking reduces the number of included annual best times and results in faster mean race times. The difference in race times between the two analysis methods is more significant in the lower percentiles and only observed during certain age categories in the upper percentiles.

Summary: This study proposed percentiles to assess physical growth and body adiposity as a function of maturity status (SM) in Chilean children and adolescents. The results suggest the use of this non-invasive technique to be applied in clinical and epidemiological contexts, providing a new method for evaluating physical growth and body adiposity in youth populations.

Summary: An increasing number of studies have utilized virtual reality (VR) for the assessment and treatment of body image disturbances (BIDs). This study focuses on the validity and discrimination between different measurement tools in a community sample of adolescents. The results indicate that there is a good convergence between traditional paper-based measurement scales, VR-based scales, and mobile app-based scales. However, the egocentric perspective measured in VR produces different results from the allocentric perspective, highlighting the importance of considering both perspectives in the assessment of BIDs.

Summary: This study identified the anthropometric indicators related to body fat percentage (%BF) in children and adolescents and validated regression equations to predict %BF using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry as a reference method. The results showed that the sum of tricipital and subscapular skinfolds and waist height index were adequate predictors of %BF. Regression equations were developed for both sexes with acceptable precision and accuracy.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the psychometric characteristics of the Latin American Spanish adaptation of the International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ) in a sample of Chilean adults for the assessment of PTSD and CPTSD. The results showed that both the second-order two-factor model and the correlated first-order six-factor model of the ITQ provided acceptable fit, with positive correlations observed between the ITQ dimensions and associated measures such as the number of reported traumatic events, adverse childhood experiences, anxiety, depression, and suicidal risk.
