A present paper outlines the new analytical solution based on the modified slab method for asymmetrical clad sheet bonded before rolling process. The novel and more precise assumption in which the uniform normal stress and nonuniform shear stress at the vertical sides of each slab through the deforming zone are considered. Moreover, using ABAQUS/Explicit software, the asymmetrical clad sheet bonded before rolling process is simulated entirely. Effects of various rolling conditions such as shear yield stress ratio, work roll radii, friction factor ratio, and reduction in thickness are discussed. It is found that all theoretical predictions are in good agreement with the finite element simulation and the analytical results of the other investigators. Throughout the study, it becomes clear that the proposed analytical method is applicable for asymmetrical clad sheet rolling and is able to offer a useful knowledge in manufacturing the clad sheet.
