Summary: Previous research has shown that individuals' systems thinking competency plays a significant role in promoting sustainability competency and pro-environmental behavior. However, Finns' assessment of their own systems thinking competency related to climate change is not very high and varies widely. Additionally, their knowledge of how to reduce their household carbon footprint is somewhat low and mainly focused on small-scale mitigation actions. These findings can inform environmental policy and sustainability education priorities.

Summary: This study aimed to assess predictors of patient safety competency among emergency nurses. The results demonstrated that patient safety competency of emergency department nurses was primarily related to the structure and leadership of the team and secondary to psychological safety and experience in patient safety activities. Developing training programs, improving psychological safety, and enhancing team structure and leadership are essential to increase patient safety competencies in the emergency nursing program.

Summary: This study aims to explore the relationship between health literacy competencies and patient-centered care by clinical nurses. The results show a significant positive relationship between health literacy competencies and patient-centered care, and factors such as education level and health literacy knowledge significantly influence the health literacy competencies of clinical nurses. The study suggests that nursing education should focus on integrating health literacy into the curriculum to improve patient-centered care by clinical nurses.

Summary: This paper argues that optimizing workplace road safety intervention is contingent on a surveillance system that allows the capture of data across all levels of the transportation system. The proposed system thinking framework is focused on identifying and assigning safety performance indicators to key actors across the transportation system, rather than focusing solely on the behaviours of the individual-driver. The power of this type of data capture has the potential to reframe the planning and management of road safety to reduce death and injury in the workplace.

Summary: This study assessed the criterion-referenced validity of systems thinking-based risk assessment (Net-HARMS) and accident analysis methods (AcciMap) in healthcare practice. The findings showed that Net-HARMS had poor validity for risk identification, while AcciMap had high validity for determining contributory factors at the correct healthcare system level but only moderate validity for identifying relationships between factors. Further work is needed to support the use of state-of-the-art safety science methods in practice.

Summary: Research into road safety has evolved from individual level component analysis to a much broader, systemic approach that acknowledges the fusion of 'socio' and 'technical' system elements. Over the years, Professor Neville Stanton's research activities have shifted towards holistic analysis of broader systems, paving the way for fundamental changes and improvements to be made to road safety systems worldwide.

Summary: Teamwork perception among Iranian nurses was moderate to high, and was found to be significantly associated with both the occurrence and reporting of adverse events. Nurses with a better understanding of teamwork concepts were more likely to report adverse events, while higher teamwork levels were associated with lower occurrences of adverse events. Further research is needed to explore the impact of teamwork training on nurses' outcomes in team performance, adverse event occurrence, and reporting.
