Summary: The global population of older people is increasing and is expected to surpass the population of younger people by 2050. In sub-Saharan Africa, infectious diseases and lower fertility rates are contributing to an exponential growth in the aging population. Non-communicable diseases are the leading cause of mortality and disability in older people in sub-Saharan Africa. Physical activity has been proven to have positive benefits in reducing the prevalence of non-communicable diseases in older people. This scoping review aims to summarize the evidence on the feasibility and effectiveness of physical activity interventions among older people in sub-Saharan Africa.

Summary: The aim of this study was to explore healthcare professionals' principles for providing and delivering rehabilitation interventions for people with advanced dementia. The study found that the culture of the organisation, the knowledge of the healthcare professional, and their personal values are key factors influencing the effectiveness of interventions. Successful interventions require healthcare professionals to have knowledge about dementia, positive personal values, and a supportive organisational culture.

Summary: The number of people living with multiple long-term conditions (MLTCs) is predicted to rise. This scoping review aims to map the available evidence regarding interventions for people living with both frailty and MLTCs. Tailoring physical activity in response to symptoms and involving family may be important in this population. However, how the tailoring of interventions has been approached within existing studies is currently unclear.

Summary: This study reviews the physical therapy techniques used in horses over the past 20 years, with exercise, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy being the most frequently reported methods. However, there is a lack of detailed information on the application and outcomes of these techniques in clinical cases. Further research is needed to better understand the types of interventions, parameterization, and outcomes of equine rehabilitation in clinical practice.
