Summary: A compact shared-aperture antenna with a large frequency ratio is proposed, consisting of a low-frequency slot antenna and a high-frequency dielectric resonator antenna. The LF slot antenna is etched in the ground and loaded by the HF DRA, using a low-permittivity substrate for wide bandwidth. The operating frequencies of the two antenna parts can be independently tuned. A prototype is fabricated and measured, showing reasonable agreement between measured and simulated results, with a compact electrical size and a frequency ratio of 7.6.

Summary: A new reconfigurable dielectric resonator antenna with multiple polarizations is presented in this study. The antenna is designed to operate in both unidirectional and omnidirectional modes and is capable of providing different phase distribution strategies. Summary: This letter proposes a novel pattern-reconfigurable dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with a compact structure and high efficiency. By introducing switchable directors on both sides of an omnidirectional DRA, the antenna is able to provide one omnidirectional radiation pattern and two unidirectional endfire patterns. A prototype of the proposed antenna is fabricated and measured to verify the design, showing good agreement between the simulated and measured results.

Summary: This paper proposes a pattern-reconfigurable endfire antenna with enhanced gain and high front-to-back ratio. By introducing a dielectric resonator excited in TE2d1 to form magnetic dipoles, two pairs of magnetoelectric dipoles can be equivalently obtained for beam steering. The experimental results show that the proposed antenna can provide three endfire beams with a peak gain of 8.9 dBi, and a front-to-back ratio of more than 15 dB within the frequency range from 4.72 to 5.35 GHz, which are consistent with the simulation.

Summary: A new 3-D-printed wideband circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) utilizing two different printing materials is investigated in this study. The antenna features a comb-shaped structure at the top and embedded dielectric strips inside the DRA body to support multiple modes and widen the bandwidth. The prototype antenna, designed and printed for C-band operation, achieves high performance in terms of impedance bandwidth, axial-ratio bandwidth, and antenna gain.

Summary: A compact horizontally polarized omnidirectional dielectric resonator antenna excited in the TE011+delta mode is presented, with an enhanced impedance bandwidth and suppressed cross-polar field. This antenna can be polarization reconfigured using diodes to switch between horizontal and vertical polarizations, with stable omnidirectional radiation patterns in both states.

Summary: This article introduces a new type of hybrid antenna that combines multiresonant modes produced by a liquid dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) and a magnetoelectric (ME) dipole. This combination achieves a wider bandwidth without significantly increasing the antenna size or modifying the ME-dipole structure. The proposed hybrid antenna demonstrates advantages in terms of wide bandwidth, smaller size, and simple structure compared to other ME-dipoles and traditional wideband antennas.

Summary: A compact co-linearly polarized microstrip antenna with identical radiation properties is proposed and validated for in-band full-duplex systems. The antenna design utilizes a fence-strip resonator in the central plane of the patch to achieve good isolation between transmitting and receiving ports. Experimental results show high port isolation over the operating bandwidth, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed antenna design.

Summary: This work presents a frequency reconfigurable wideband rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA) for 5G applications using a machine learning approach. The concept of machine learning is integrated with reconfigurable DRA for the first time. A novel approach is proposed to achieve wideband and frequency reconfigurability. Frequency reconfigurability is electronically achieved using PIN diode switches and can operate in four different configurations, offering a maximum tuning range of 76.84%. The Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGB) machine learning algorithm provides over 90% accuracy in predicting S11 in all configurations.

Summary: Recent trends in dielectric resonator antenna research include the use of compound and hybrid structures, which have shown interesting and significant features in terms of bandwidth, gain, and circular polarization generation. This critical review discusses the evolution of circularly polarized hybrid dielectric resonator antennas, with a general discussion on circular polarization and DR antennas, along with indications of future challenges and new design ideas. Additionally, state-of-the-art advances and associated design challenges of circularly polarized hybrid DR antennas are discussed, including empirical formulas to find resonance frequency of different hybrid modes.

Summary: This letter presents a wideband wide-beam rectangular di-electric resonator antenna (DRA) using uniaxial anisotropic material for the first time. By tuning the uniaxial permittivity tensor, the radiation from the top wall of the DRA is enhanced and the gain at low elevation angle in the E-plane is improved. The bandwidth is broadened by merging the feed slot mode and the fundamental TE(111)(y) mode. The addition of a grounded substrate and trapezoidal notches on the ground broadens the half-power beamwidth (HPBW) in the H-plane. The measured results show an impedance bandwidth of 35.7% over a band of 2.65-3.8 GHz with HPBWs of at least 250 degrees and 162 degrees in the E-and H-planes, respectively.
