Summary: Recent literature has explored the use of sole attitude determination devices, particularly star trackers, for accurate and precise measurement of angular velocity. The state approach is found to be more effective than error-based filtering in this aspect, providing important implications for space situational awareness object localization.

Summary: In this study, a dual-vector discrete-time CF (DV-DTCF) based on the MARG sensor is introduced, which utilizes gravity and geomagnetic vectors as state variables to avoid linearization error and reduce computational complexity. Experimental results have shown that DV-DTCF can achieve the same accuracy as commonly-used KF algorithms in MARG-based attitude estimation, but with lower time consumption.

Summary: This paper presents an attitude error model of a star tracker induced by optical system errors, and proposes an attitude Kalman filter considering the star tracker errors. It is challenging to estimate star tracker error models online due to the non-availability of error-free parameters and their confidentiality. The proposed method uses a colored noise Kalman filter to estimate attitude error, spacecraft attitude, and gyro bias, requiring only three additional states and not disclosing sensitive information of the star tracker manufacturer.

Summary: Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) and Complementary Filter (CF) are commonly used attitude determination algorithms, with the main difference being the gain matrix used for attitude update. Mathematical derivation shows that CF is an approximation to EKF, and in low sampling rate conditions, EKF is more stable than CF.

Summary: Star trackers are widely used for attitude estimation, but they may introduce a time delay in attitude measurements due to processing tasks. This study evaluates different methods to incorporate delayed measurements in the Gokturk-2 satellite attitude filter. The methods are compared in terms of accuracy, computational load, and impact on the filter's optimality using simulated and actual satellite data.

Summary: This study presents a spacecraft attitude estimation method with two adaptation rules in the extended Kalman filter for compensating measurement faults and external disturbances by updating noise covariances. Using Singular Value Decomposition for the measurement noise covariance adaptation and incorporating process noise covariance adaptation rules enable the filter to resist initialization errors, system noise uncertainties, and measurement malfunctions. Numerical simulations demonstrate the robustness of the filter design.

Summary: In this study, a complementary filtering algorithm is used to address drift and noise in gyroscope and accelerometer, and high-precision attitude angles are obtained by combining IMU multi-sensor signals. Three different algorithms are utilized for attitude estimation, with results indicating that the Mahony complementary filtering algorithm is more suitable for low-cost embedded systems.

Summary: This article proposes a virtual-measurement-combined extended Kalman filter (VMC-EKF) method that combines the carrier's motion state for attitude estimation, eliminating the requirement for uniform observability. Through a series of experiments, it is shown that the method can achieve fast convergence of attitude estimation and avoid the divergence of position estimation compared with state-of-the-art methods.

Summary: In order to address the vulnerability issues of the traditional EKF-based GNSS/IMU/Vision fusion scheme to NLOS and multipath contaminated GNSS, as well as low-quality vision measurement, we propose an adaptive weighting strategy. By adjusting the weights of vision and GNSS measurements adaptively based on the chi-square test statistic, the proposed algorithm achieves improved accuracy compared to traditional EKF-based GNSS/IMU fusion and compared EKF-based GNSS/IMU/Vision fusion.

By rotating the vibratory working modes of a honeycomb disk resonator gyroscope (HDRG) periodically with electronic control, the uncertainty in azimuth can be reduced. Experimental results demonstrate that the NFS achieves a high accuracy in azimuth, reaching 0.204 degrees at 28.2 degrees latitude.

Summary: This study presents a new attitude estimator based on a time-varying Kalman filter adapted for cases with low-acceleration assumption. Comparative analysis is conducted to compare the accuracies of this new estimator with the original one, as well as their efficiency with other published attitude estimators. The results demonstrate that the new AE achieves the best overall performance, followed by the original one.

Summary: This article proposes a computationally lightweight marginalized particle filtering (MPF) algorithm with improved filter consistency. The proposed algorithm improves the convergence and efficiency of the filters by separately applying a Kalman filter (KF) and a particle filter (PF) to each state space. By simplifying the MPF through Gaussian approximation and considering the dynamic model of a TRN system, the complexity of the algorithm is further reduced while maintaining filter consistency.

Summary: In this paper, a multi-position cluster-based weighted position estimation method is proposed to mitigate the effects of multipath/non-line-of-sight signals using a GNSS receiver. The method is suitable for positioning passenger cars in urban driving environments. Density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) is used to analyze the density characteristics of position data generated by line-of-sight signals. By constructing a weighted model using Doppler-based velocity measurements, the proposed method improves the accuracy of vehicle positioning by approximately 24% compared to existing solutions.

Summary: Redundant inertial sensor systems can improve navigation performance and ensure fault detection or fault isolation functions. However, the enlargement of size may lead to unexpected side effects. The lever arm effect error can be minimized by carefully considering the configuration of redundant sensors, with the figure-of-merit (FOM) used as an indicator for obtaining the optimal configuration.
