Summary: This study assessed the cancer risks associated with Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKi) compared to biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) in clinical practice. The results showed that, in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA), the short-term risk of cancers other than non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) was not higher with JAKi compared to tumor necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi), but there was evidence of an increased risk for NMSC.

Summary: In patients with moderate-to-severe chronic plaque psoriasis, treatment with bDMARDs may delay or reduce the risk of incident PsA. The annual incidence rate of PsA was significantly lower in the bDMARDs group compared to the phototherapy group. Factors associated with a higher risk of PsA included older age, nail psoriasis, and psoriasis duration over 10 years.

Summary: This study investigates the association between different definitions of axial involvement and syndesmophytes development in patients with Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA). The results show that the probability of developing syndesmophytes is much higher when axial involvement is determined radiographically rather than clinically, particularly in the context of high CRP.

Summary: Patient care for psoriatic arthritis (PsA) can vary across countries. This study found that patients from countries with lower GDP/capita had higher disease activity and worse disease impact, despite similar use of biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs). There is a need for more equitable healthcare.

Summary: Estimates of the epidemiology of Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) are crucial for healthcare provision, research, and organizational work. A statistical modeling strategy was used to provide contemporary prevalence and incidence estimates for PsA in the UK from 1991 to 2020, showing a significant increase in both prevalence and incidence rates over the past three decades.

Summary: Specific and high-quality evidence on the efficacy of current targeted therapies for axial disease in psoriatic arthritis (axPsA) is lacking. More studies specifically designed for axPsA and based on validated definition and outcome measures are urgently needed to provide reliable evidence.

Summary: The study provides a comprehensive analysis of age-dependent risk of PsA, focusing on varying incidences within different age groups. Results show that the incidence of PsA increases with age until a peak slightly before age 60, then declines. Incidence is higher in women than in men, and shows an increasing trend over the survey period.

Summary: This study compared the clinical and radiographical characteristics of axial psoriatic arthritis (PsA) with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) with psoriasis. It found that axial PsA is predominantly HLA-B27 negative and has different manifestations compared to AS with psoriasis. There is great heterogeneity in the definition of axial PsA from a clinical and imaging perspective.

Summary: Psoriatic arthritis is a common manifestation of psoriasis and has a significant impact on physical functioning, work ability and quality of life. A German study found that 2.6% of adult patients with psoriasis developed concomitant psoriatic arthritis within five years. Cardiovascular diseases are the most frequent comorbidity, while depression and neurosis/stress disorder were identified as indicators for the development of psoriatic arthritis.

Summary: Psoriatic arthritis, a common manifestation of psoriasis, significantly impacts patients' quality of life. Little research has been done on its epidemiology and risk factors, but findings suggest cardiovascular diseases, depression, and neurosis/stress disorder are associated with the development of psoriatic arthritis.

Summary: Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a systemic inflammatory condition with multiple clinical manifestations. Despite progress in understanding its pathobiology and emergence of targeted therapies, some patients still do not respond well to current treatments. The heterogeneous nature of the disease and varying disease activity make it challenging to devise management strategies.

Summary: The frequent involvement of the spine and sacroiliac joint in Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) has led to its classification within the Spondyloarthritis group, although a clear distinction between PsA and Spondyloarthritis remains challenging. Axial involvement, ranging from 25 to 70% in PsA patients, must be taken into consideration alongside peripheral involvement for disease management. The lack of consensus in defining axial involvement in PsA has led to varying interpretations over the years, highlighting a need for improved clinical and radiological assessment.

Summary: Ocular trauma and conditions in space, such as corneal abrasions, dry eyes, eye debris, ocular irritation, chemical burns, and ocular infections, were reviewed in this literature review based on over 100 articles and NASA evidence books. Unique exposures in spaceflight, including foreign bodies like celestial dust and chemical and thermal injuries from CO2 and heat exposure, were reported. Various diagnostic modalities, such as vision questionnaires, visual acuity testing, fundoscopy, orbital ultrasound, and ocular coherence tomography, were used to evaluate these conditions.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a decline in daily steps and physical activity levels. Studies show that over 7000 steps per day is the minimum standard for reducing the risk of all-cause mortality. The confinement period of COVID-19 has led to a significant decrease in daily steps among the general adult population.

Summary: ObjectiveGiant cell arteritis(GCA)requires treatment with high-dose, long-term glucocorticoids (GCs). A score assessing and quantifying patients' baseline GC-related toxicity may be important to risk stratification and therapeutic decision-making in patients initiating immunosuppression. This approach to the assessment of baseline GC-related toxicity distinguished patients with relapsing GCA from those with newly diagnosed disease and may be useful in therapeutic decision-making for patients beginning immunosuppressive treatment.
