STEREOSELECTIVE SYNTHESIS OF CHIRAL α,β-UNSATURATED tert-BUTYL SULFOXIDES DERIVATIVES BY THE HORNER-WADSWORTH-EMMONS REACTION

A series of chiral alpha,beta-unsaturated tert-butyl sulfoxides derivatives was synthesized by the Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reaction in good (E)/(Z) ratios. The enantioselectivity up to 89% and the yield up to 90% were achieved. These sulfoxides could be important intermediates in asymmetric synthesis.
