Summary: This study tested the changeability and temporal stability of physical activity-related health competence (PAHCO) in office workers and examined its effects on leisure-time physical activity (PA) and health-related quality of life (HRQOL). The results showed that PAHCO increased significantly after a workplace health promotion program and remained stable during follow-up measurements. The subscales of PAHCO related to self-regulation and control competence had positive effects on leisure-time PA and HRQOL.

Summary: By evaluating a multimodal exercise programme, this study found that exercise can enhance the long-term success of bariatric surgery by improving patients' physical training control competence and PA-specific self-control. The intervention group also showed improvements in self-reported exercise and subjective vitality.

Summary: The study found a significant relationship between Physical Activity-related Health Competence (PAHCO) and leisure-time physical activity, physical health, and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in office workers in Germany. Leisure-time physical activity acted as a positive mediator for the association between PAHCO and physical health, but not for the association between PAHCO and MetS. These findings highlight the importance of PAHCO in promoting physical health and preventing MetS in office workers.

Summary: This study examined the physical activity and sedentary behavior of Canadian students and found that physical literacy predicts class affiliations and transitions. Students with higher physical literacy were more likely to be in active or low sedentary behavior classes. Class affiliation also predicted body mass index and self-concept.

Summary: The study revealed a positive association between moderate to high levels of health literacy and leisure time physical activity among Lithuanian adolescents. Additionally, being male, belonging to a more affluent family, and having a father who exercises were significant predictors of adolescents' leisure time physical activity. The results underscore the importance of promoting physical activity among schoolchildren and integrating health literacy promotion into the school curriculum.

Summary: This study investigates the challenges, competencies, and support in breast and gynecological cancer patients' information needs, and how health literacy can be improved through the interplay of these factors. The findings reveal the challenges patients face in accessing and processing information, and the competencies they possess in regulating their information needs and making informed decisions. Support from professionals, relatives, peers, and facilities is crucial in enhancing patients' health literacy.

Summary: This study compared the moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) levels and teaching practices in primary physical education (PE) using linear pedagogy, nonlinear pedagogy, and usual practice. The results showed that both linear and nonlinear pedagogical approaches did not negatively impact MVPA levels compared to usual practice. Additionally, these pedagogical approaches included higher percentages of MVPA promoting teaching practices.

Summary: The goal of this cross-sectional study was to further explore the relationships between motor competence, physical activity, perceived motor competence, physical fitness and weight status in different age categories of Dutch primary school children. The study showed that all five factors included in the analyses are related to each other and that a tipping point exists at which relations emerge or strengthen. The results suggest that targeting motor competence at a young age might be a feasible way to ensure continued participation in physical activities throughout childhood and adolescence.

Summary: Monitoring anthropometric and physical fitness parameters in primary school children is important for preventing future health problems. This study designed and evaluated a monitoring tool called AUT FIT, consisting of measurements for height, weight, waist circumference, and eight fitness tests. Data from 821 children showed good reliability and ease of implementation for most tests. Strong correlation between physical education teacher rankings and rank scores for motor fitness indicated the tool's validity. Implementing AUT FIT in the Austrian school system could be crucial for monitoring and improving the health and fitness of primary school children.

Summary: In this study, co-created multi-component physical activity interventions in vocational education and training were evaluated for their sustainability and effectiveness. The study found that co-creation approach appeared promising for long-term intervention implementation in nursing care, but not in automotive mechatronics. Various influencing factors at different levels were found to impact the sustainability and effectiveness of the interventions. Demonstrating effectiveness at the individual level proved to be challenging. Methodologically complex and elaborate evaluation designs will be required to conclusively clarify the role and impact of co-creation.
