Summary: This study identified 46 predatory journals in the field of neurosurgery by cross-referencing four major blacklists and the UGC CARE whitelist. Among the 360 neurosurgery journals listed on Scimago, 60 were open access, with predatory journals having substantially lower publication fees. Predatory journals were found to have penetrated legitimate indexes by utilizing similar names to legitimate journals and publishing articles with external funding.

Summary: The selection of a target journal for publishing scientific papers is influenced by various factors. This study evaluated 49 journals publishing papers in zoological medicine and related fields, and examined the turnaround time of journals to aid authors in selecting suitable target journals. Of the evaluated journals, 39 provided necessary data, revealing a wide range of acceptance and publication times. The results can be useful for authors prioritizing different factors when deciding where to submit their works.

Summary: The CITES treaty, designed to safeguard wild plants and animals from overexploitation by international trade, is showing its age as it lacks consideration of the impacts of key decisions and systematic evidentiary support. It is proposed to make three key changes to the CITES listing process: developing a formal mechanism to consider consequences of species listing decisions, broadening criteria for listing decisions, and increasing input from local communities in the listing process to better respond to wildlife needs in today's conservation context.

Summary: In recent years, the treatment of aGVHD has become more nuanced with the improved risk classification systems and a better understanding of its complex pathophysiology. There have been advancements in the development of treatments, such as the approval of ruxolitinib for SR-aGVHD, but challenges still remain. Future clinical trials may identify steroid-sparing approaches for patients likely to respond and approaches to improve tissue repair and dysbiosis for those unlikely to respond to immunosuppression alone.

Summary: Since the discovery of H. pylori as the cause of gastric and duodenal ulcers, many studies have been conducted on eradicating the infection. While it is agreed upon that treatment is necessary, as H. pylori can lead to serious complications, such complications are rare, especially in children. Additionally, there is growing evidence suggesting a beneficial role of H. pylori against certain chronic health conditions. Therefore, it is important to reconsider the practice of eradicating H. pylori in every child infected.

Summary: The prevalence of predatory journals in orthopaedic surgery is increasing, with direct solicitation of authors offering open access and quick publication rates. These journals process manuscripts without peer review and often charge a substantial publication fee. This raises concerns about the scientific value and threatens the quality of scientific discourse and scholarship.

Summary: This study investigates the acceptance of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) charging among electric vehicle (EV) drivers. The findings suggest that clear communication, financial compensation, real-time insight, and user-friendly interface contribute to higher acceptance. However, uncertainty in battery state-of-charge, increased planning requirements, anxiety about reaching destinations, and restrictions on personal vehicle use are major barriers. The study also reveals that actual experience with V2G charging influences perceptions, with concrete factors carrying more weight than abstract concerns.
