Proliferative Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes' Abundance within the Microenvironment Impacts Clinical Outcome in Cutaneous B-Cell Lymphomas

Sarah Menguy, Martina Prochazkova-Carlotti, Lamia Azzi-Martin, Thomas Ferte, Laurence Bresson-Bepoldin, Christophe Rey, Beatrice Vergier, Jean-Philippe Merlio, Marie Beylot-Barry, Anne Pham-Ledard

Summary: In this study, the tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) were characterized in 20 cases of primary cutaneous B-cell lymphoma (PCBCL). It was found that TILs were sparsely intermingled within tumor infiltrate in aggressive PCBCL and were scattered around tumor nodule edges in indolent PCBCL. The abundance of proliferative TILs was associated with better progression-free survival in aggressive PCBCL.

Comparison of molecular and serological assays on cerebrospinal fluid for the diagnosis of neurosyphilis

Romain Salle, Philippe A. Grange, Guillaume Ollagnier, Nadjet Benhaddou, Ugo Heller, Nicolas Dupin

Summary: This study evaluated different molecular and serological assays used in neurosyphilis (NS) diagnosis and found that there is no "gold standard" method. Molecular techniques have excellent specificity but lack sufficient diagnostic performance. A combination of clinical and biological parameters, combining PCR and serology in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), is a feasible approach for NS diagnosis.

Impact of blood involvement on efficacy and time to response with mogamulizumab in mycosis fungoides and Sezary syndrome

Marie Beylot-Barry, Nina Booken, Carsten Weishaupt, Julia Scarisbrick, Wende Wu, Jan-Paul Rosen, Michael C. Medley

Summary: This study, using post hoc analyses of the MAVORIC study data, found that the efficacy of mogamulizumab in MF patients improves with increasing baseline blood tumor burden, and skin response may take longer than previously reported in some patients.

Busting the myth of methotrexate chronic hepatotoxicity

Vincent Di Martino, Delphine Weil Verhoeven, Frank Verhoeven, Francois Aubin, Jerome Avouac, Lucine Vuitton, Frederic Liote, Thierry Thevenot, Daniel Wendling

Summary: Methotrexate is an important treatment for inflammatory rheumatic diseases, especially rheumatoid arthritis. Liver toxicity is a concern for long-term methotrexate therapy, particularly in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Understanding the mechanisms of hepatotoxicity and liver fibrosis is crucial for pretreatment screening and long-term monitoring in patients with chronic liver disease.

Impact of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic on the treatment of psoriasis with systemic therapies in France: Results from the PSOBIOTEQ cohort

H. Arlegui, E. Mahe, M. -a. Richard, Y. De Rycke, M. Viguier, M. Beylot-Barry, A. Dupuy, N. Beneton, P. Joly, D. Jullien, H. Bachelez, E. Sbidian, O. Chosidow, C. Paul, F. Tubach, PSOBIOTEQ study grp

Summary: This study investigated the treatment modifications and COVID-19 infection incidence among psoriasis patients in France during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results found that discontinuation or reduction of treatment was associated with a higher rate of disease flares, and the risk of COVID-19 infection was related to close contact with infected individuals and living in areas with a high incidence of COVID-19. Therefore, it is important to maintain and adapt patient-physician communication during crises to avoid unnecessary treatment interruptions and inform patients about the risk of infection and the importance of hygiene rules.

Human papilloma virus-16-specific CD8+T-cell expansions characterize different clinical forms of lichen planus and not lichen sclerosus et atrophicus

Manuelle Viguier, Corine Perals, Beatrice Poirier, Maxime Battistella, Francois Aubin, Herve Bachelez, Jean-Luc Pretet, Tarik Gheit, Massimo Tommasino, Antoine Touze, Marie-Lise Gougeon, Nicolas Fazilleau

Summary: Lichen planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by CD8(+) T-cell infiltrate, and HPV16-specific CD8(+) T-cells are involved in different clinical forms of LP. Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus (LSA) has a different immune response, with oligoclonal TCRVss6(+) CTL repertoire.

Resolved Psoriasis with Abundant Oleic Acid in Stratum Corneum Exhibits Lower T-Cell-Driven IL-17 Signature

Yasmin El Mahi, Alexis Varin, Mathieu Vetter, Ludivine Dal Zuffo, Loic Mazzeo, Jean-Paul Pais De Barros, Francois Aubin, Philippe Saas, Irene Gallais Serezal

Summary: The relapses of psoriasis are related to T cells that reside in the skin, with the fatty acid intake capacity of tissue-resident memory T cells playing a crucial role in their function. The composition of fatty acids in the skin is linked to the functions of epidermal T cells and may affect the severity of psoriasis.

Summary: In patients with advanced melanoma who had achieved disease control with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI), rechallenge with ICI showed high response rates (54%) and disease control (75%). Therefore, ICI rechallenge should be considered as a relevant therapeutic option.
