Summary: A video analysis framework was developed for netball research, which included descriptors and definitions of physical, technical, and contextual aspects. The framework aims to improve consistency of language, guide injury reporting, and identify injury risk factors. Its usage is recommended for conducting video analysis research in netball.

Summary: In the field of netball, more studies should be conducted on the incidence of injuries, especially data analysis for players of different age groups and the development of prevention strategies. There are clear patterns in the main circumstances of injury, including landings, collisions, and falls. Further systematic research and standardized methods are needed to complement current studies.

Summary: This research aims to analyze the anxiety level and precompetitive self-confidence of tennis and padel players and examine the influence of gender and competitive level in each sport. The findings indicate that padel players have higher self-confidence compared to tennis players, and female tennis players have higher precompetitive anxiety levels than male players, whereas the opposite is observed in padel. U14 players demonstrate the highest self-confidence and lowest precompetitive anxiety levels. Overall, this study highlights the importance of precompetitive anxiety as a key psychological variable in relation to sport performance, which can vary based on gender and competitive level.

Summary: This study investigated the associations between cognitive fitness, gender, sleep, and mental health in competitive athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results showed that female athletes had poorer cognitive fitness and mental health compared to male athletes, and customized interventions should be developed for women athletes.

Summary: This study introduces the competitive balance theory and investigates the evolution of balance in the presence of conflicts of interest. The results show that the system tends to evolve towards one dominant state of balance or, less frequently, competing states of balance coexist in a jammed state.

Summary: The study found that a bivariate index capturing competitiveness in the top K places has the highest association with attendance in European football leagues, while a seasonal index of champions' domination also shows a large association with attendance. Ranking mobility has a slightly higher association with attendance than seasonal performance, suggesting that sports policymakers should use these indices to assess decisions influencing competitive balance.

Summary: The study shows that the sport-for-development intervention in the 12 villages in Samoa has achieved positive results, particularly in increasing sports participation and improving physical and mental wellbeing. During the implementation, social support and capacity to independently organize activities in the villages have also been enhanced.

Summary: Player interactions and passing networks play a crucial role in maintaining possession and creating scoring opportunities in Netball. This study analyzed the characteristics of elite Netball teams' passing networks and their association with performance outcomes. The results showed that pass density and pass centrality were higher in wins/losses and significantly contributed to predicting the score margin. Team cohesion through passing was found to be an important measure of success in elite Netball.

Summary: The study of the competitive balance model reveals that under a certain temperature, the symmetry between competing interests in a signed network will spontaneously break, leading to a discrete phase transition, ultimately resulting in the dominance of one paradigm for system stability. The critical temperature depends linearly on the number of nodes, showing a linear dependence in the thermal balance theory. Results obtained through the mean-field method are supported by simulations.

Summary: This study examines the forecasting performance of the world uncertainty index (WUI) in crude oil volatility using the popular GARCH-MIDAS model. Empirical results demonstrate that the WUI outperforms the economic policy uncertainty (EPU) and geopolitical risk index (GPR). Through the encompassing test, our study provides strong evidence that the predictive content from WUI can encompass the EPU and GPR in predicting crude oil volatility.

Summary: The study focuses on an inspection and replacement policy for systems, emphasizing what maintenance to schedule at known times rather than when to schedule maintenance. The model considers limitations in time and resources that may lead to violations. Results show that the scheduled time for preventive replacement and the effective visit-frequency have the largest effect on policy performance.

Summary: The study found that axillary lymph-node dissection does not significantly improve overall survival in women with low-risk, clinically node-negative breast cancer. However, it may improve disease-free survival in the short term by tailoring a proportion of patients towards chemotherapy. When systemic therapy is balanced between the two arms, axillary de-escalation studies are likely to find no difference in overall or disease-free survival.

Summary: This study presents three fundamental models for modelling the bivariate scores in possessive ball-sports. These models can be used for prediction, experimentation, and explanation. The Markov-match model is a new model that complements the binomial-match model. The Markov-match model induces a larger correlation between the scores of competitors but slightly more tied outcomes.

Summary: This study proposes a maintenance policy for remote systems that combines periodic inspection and opportunistic replacement. The results indicate that opportunistic replacement can significantly impact the cost-rate of the optimum policy but cannot achieve very high availability. Therefore, maintenance planning should be flexible when external factors influence maintenance effectiveness.

Summary: This study presents a maintenance policy model that combines opportunistic and scheduled inspections. The inspections are randomly determined, with the system only being checked if it has reached a certain age. In addition, emergency inspections are carried out once the system reaches a specific age. The model considers the flexibility of inspections based on production, missions, and convenience, while still adhering to statutory and safety regulations. The model's outcomes were analyzed numerically to assess the cost-rate and mean time between operational failures for different parameter values. The model proves useful in quantifying the advantages and disadvantages of flexible inspection policies and demonstrates that better utilization of inspection opportunities can lead to cost reduction and increased reliability.
