By combining vacuum distillation and high-temperature calcination, TiO2, HCl, and organic solvents can be efficiently recovered from TWWA. This method allows for reduction and resource utilization of TWWA, with the advantages of a simple technological process and low treatment cost.
In this study, the recovery efficiency of titanium dioxide (TiO2), hydrochloric acid (HCl), and organic solvents in titanium white waste acid (TWWA) is investigated via distillation combined with the calcination method. After distillation under vacuum condition at-0.071 MPa for 60 min, the recovery of diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), hexane (C6H14), ethanol (C2H5OH), and HCl reached up to 70%, 76%, 68%, and 21%, respectively. Moreover, the metatitanic acid (TiO(OH)(2)) concentration in TWWA thick slurry obtained at the end of vacuum distillation increased from 72.60 to 416.11 g/L. Anatase and rutile were harvested after 60-min continuous calcination of TWWA thick slurry at 600 degrees C and 900 degrees C, respectively, and the TiO2 content in rutile was as high as 93%. Based on these results, we believe that TiO2, HCl, and organic solvents can be efficiently recovered from TWWA via vacuum distillation and high-temperature calcination. This method realizes the reduction and resource utilization of TWWA and has the advantages of simple technological process and low treatment cost.

Jingcheng Zhou, Junfeng Liu, Songlin Xiang, Yizhou Zhang, Yuqing Wang, Wendong Ge, Jianying Hu, Yi Wan, Xuejun Wang, Ying Liu, Jianmin Ma, Xilong Wang, Shu Tao

Summary: Urban traffic pollution is influenced by urban morphology, and this study found that both traffic emissions and urban morphology determine the distribution of air pollutants in a city block. Factors such as distance from the road, building coverage ratio, and aspect ratio of the street canyon play a key role in the spatial distribution of air pollution. The developed Urban Morphology Pollution Index can help urban planners evaluate the impact of building groups on traffic pollution and reduce human exposure to street canyon level pollution through emission control or urban morphology improvement.

Improvement and Uncertainties of Global Simulation of Sulfate Concentration and Radiative Forcing in CESM2

Wendong Ge, Junfeng Liu, Songlin Xiang, Yuhan Zhou, Jingcheng Zhou, Xiurong Hu, Jianmin Ma, Xuejun Wang, Yi Wan, Jianying Hu, Zhaobin Zhang, Xilong Wang, Shu Tao

Summary: This study comprehensively estimates the global distribution of sulfate concentrations and radiative forcing (RF) and analyzes the sources of uncertainty in the models. The incorporation of in-cloud chemistry and enhanced wet deposition significantly improves the simulation of sulfur species, leading to a more accurate estimation of the global RF of sulfate. Wet deposition is found to be the key process governing the distribution of sulfate concentrations. The overestimation of surface sulfate and underestimation of high-altitude sulfate are essential uncertainty factors in sulfate RF estimation. The study highlights the importance of improving the simulation of global sulfate distribution and RF.

ZNF582 overexpression restrains the progression of clear cell renal cell carcinoma by enhancing the binding of TJP2 and ERK2 and inhibiting ERK2 phosphorylation

Wuping Yang, Zedan Zhang, Lei Li, Kenan Zhang, Yawei Xu, Mancheng Xia, Jingcheng Zhou, Yanqing Gong, Jinchao Chen, Kan Gong

Summary: Recent evidences have shown that ZNF582 plays important roles in various tumors, but its role in ccRCC remains unclear. This study identified the low expression pattern of ZNF582 in ccRCC and demonstrated its correlation with tumor stage, grade, distant metastasis, and prognosis. It also confirmed the hypermethylation status of ZNF582 in ccRCC and its negative regulation on ZNF582 expression. Furthermore, ZNF582 overexpression was found to inhibit ccRCC growth and metastasis through upregulating TJP2 and suppressing ERK2 phosphorylation. These findings highlight the potential therapeutic target of ZNF582/TJP2/ERK2 axis in ccRCC treatment.
