Summary: Microbial sulfonamide degradation (MSD) is an efficient and safe treatment method in natural and engineered ecosystems. A bibliometric analysis of data from Web of Science (WoS) and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) was conducted to understand the research status and trends of MSD. China, Germany, Spain, the United States, and Australia were the leading countries in terms of high-impact publications, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences was the leading research institution. The top journal in terms of citations was Chemosphere. MSD research has evolved from basic laboratory experiments to complex environmental microbial communities and molecular mechanisms. Proteobacteria, Gammaproteobacteria, Burkholderiales, and Alcaligenaceae were the most frequently observed classifications, while Bacillus, Pseudomonas, and Achromobacter were the top three genera in MSD research.

Summary: This study found that the occurrence of PMDD is associated with changes in ALLO-mediated GABAA receptor alpha 4 expression in different brain regions. Exogenous ALLO significantly improved anxiety behaviors in PMDD-LIS rats. GABAA receptor alpha 4 expression was low in the amygdala and abnormally high in the hippocampus, but ALLO alleviated these deviations.

Summary: A rat model of premenstrual irritability in PMDD was induced using the resident-intruder paradigm. The model demonstrated similar symptoms of premenstrual irritability and anxiety as seen in PMDD, which were dependent on the estrous cycle. The study also found that abnormal changes in 5-HT, NE, GABA, P, ALLO, and GABRA4 may be critical biomarkers during the pathogenesis of PMDD.

Summary: This study revealed that the GABRB2 gene plays a regulatory role in PMDD-like behaviors. The ALLO binding site may not be located on the β2 subunits, and abnormal expressions of the δ and ε subunits in the mouse brain, as well as neurotransmitter disturbance, may contribute to ALLO sensitivity.
