Summary: This study aims to define and analyze subsets of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in pig seminal plasma. Using ultrafiltration and size exclusion chromatography, EV subsets were isolated and their proteomic profiles were decoded. The results showed that the subsets, S-EVs and L-EVs, have different sources and biological functions, with S-EVs involved in modulating the immune environment of the female reproductive tract and sperm-oocyte interaction, and L-EVs involved in sperm physiological processes.

Summary: MicroRNAs play a significant role in male infertility, with their concentration in semen being linked to specific reproductive dysfunctions. Aberrant expression of certain microRNAs has been associated with male reproductive disorders. Additionally, idiopathic male infertility is connected to single nucleotide polymorphisms in microRNA binding sites.

Summary: This study successfully demonstrated the presence of extracellular vesicles in chicken seminal plasma, with differential size, protein markers, and putative incorporation capacity according to male fertility status. Extracellular vesicles enriched seminal fractions from fertile males showed a higher capacity to be incorporated into fertile sperm and impacted sperm viability and motility.

Summary: This study investigated the role of miRNAs and SPAG7 in male infertility. It found that miR-424 and miR-497 were upregulated in oligoasthenozoospermic men, while SPAG7 expression was downregulated. These findings suggest a potential regulatory role of miR-424 and SPAG7 in the pathogenesis of oligoasthenozoospermia.

Summary: This systematic review investigates the differential expression of circRNAs in male infertility and their potential as candidate biomarkers. It was found that many circRNAs are deregulated in male infertility and their interactions with miRNAs play a crucial role in cellular processes and pathways. CircRNAs could also be used as biomarkers for screening patients before sperm retrieval, but there is a knowledge gap regarding their role in other subtypes of male infertility.

Summary: The study found that scrotal heat stress affects the levels of sperm miRNA and seminal plasma sEVs, leading to changes in sperm morphology and function, causing an increase in sperm oxidative stress and alterations in miRNA levels. This suggests that scrotal heat stress may impact testicular and epididymis functions, ultimately affecting sperm formation and maturation.

Summary: The compounds in seminal plasma have potential as biomarkers for male fertility and can be used for diagnosing different types of azoospermia. Distinguishing between obstructive and non-obstructive azoospermia is important for effective treatment. Proteins in seminal plasma, particularly testicular and epididymal proteins, can serve as biomarkers for diagnosing azoospermia. Combining multiple biomarkers, such as TEX101 and ECM1 or TEX101 and SPAG1, can improve diagnostic accuracy.

Summary: Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) are membrane-limited particles secreted by healthy and cancerous cells, containing proteins, lipids, metabolites and nucleic acids, mediating various biological functions. In the male genital tract, three subtypes of EV have been described, differing in secretion location such as the testis, prostate or epididymis. EVs can fuse together, deliver information to recipient cells like spermatozoa, and potentially modulate transmitted information to the next generation through epigenetic changes.

Summary: The study identified 27 shared genes associated with spermatogenesis through reanalyzing gene expression databases and validation datasets. Among these genes, KIF2C and TEKT2 were found to be down-regulated in spermatogenesis and validated in multiple datasets. The study also established a TF-miRNA-target gene network, suggesting that KIF2C may play a role in spermatogenesis through interactions with miRNAs and TFs.

Summary: The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is rapidly evolving and image data from terminal devices and IoT nodes are linked to user's private data. The use of image sensors as an automation tool for IIoT is increasing. However, a major issue is reducing data quantity and bandwidth while maintaining image quality. Image compression in the sensor expedites data transfer and reduces bandwidth use. Image encryption provides a safe method for protecting picture transformation and storage in IIoT systems. This research proposes an AHBO-LBGCCE approach that combines LBG-enabled codebook creation and encryption for IIoT. Experimental investigation confirms the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
